Deoghar ( baba dham ) — Attraction in Jharkhand

I am a native of Deoghar, it is a beautiful small town with great places of tourist attractions. It is surrounded by hills, one of the hill Trikut has a ropeway, by which one can go top of the hill to see beautiful landscapes all around. It has famous BABA Baidyanath Dham temple and various spiritual places like Satsang Ashram, Balanand Brahmchari Ashram, Devsangh, Rikhiya Yoga pith etc. There are scenic natural beauty all around the periphery of the town full of greenery. Nandan Pahar is a small hillock in the town overlooking the town with a panoramic view. There are numerous comfortable hotels for stay. Jasidih 7 km from Deoghar is the railway station situated in Howrah-- Newdelhi main line. Several superfast & express trains has stoppages in Jasidih Junction. It is 311 km from eastern metropolis Kolkata, 311 km from state capital Ranchi, 222 km from Patna. It take average 4.5 hours to reach Jasidih from Howrah, 8 hours from Ranchi, 5 hours from Patna . Had a family trip in dec 2019. Went to shri Baidyanath dham early in tth mornibg (0530 hrs). To my surprise, several pandas hooped inside the temple complex and started asking for mobey for darshan. They even shouted at is and cursed us for not paying. The darshan starts at 0630 am and u have to pay an unofficial entry and EXIT fee in the name of dakshina for the darshan. Very shortly i unundeunde that unless and until u cough out money nothing is going to happen. There is a complete chaos inside where there is abrupt pushing and rushibg.

The followings are my recommendations

Take care of ladies children elders and differently ables. Take care of ur belongings Need not give money to pandas. Just buy a ten rupees flower pot and water and go inside. Have a visit to satsang ashram, ramkrihna mission and naulakha temple. If have time visit the usri falls and tapovan Do buy some pedas...

Deoghar is a place of lord shiva ..... it's tourism is for the worshipping of Lord shiva at the holy temple Baba Mandir . Deoghar also called Baidyanath dham or Baba nagri . It hs a very old and ancient history related to Lord Shiva and Ravana . It is also the jyotirling . It has a story in which Ravana was carrying Lord Shiva on hi shoulder to Lanka but in the middle when he needed to pee he kept Lord Shiva down and it was a condition for him that if he would be kept down then he will remain there for forever. Since that incident , Lord Shiva remained in this place so we called this place as Baba dham or baba nagri .
