Pahari Mandir is a temple located in hilltop in Ranchi the capital of Jharkhand. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. This temple is located at 2140 feet above sea level and 350 feet above the ground. Shiva is worshiped in linga form in the hill temple. There is a large crowd of Shiva devotees come here during the month of Shivaratri and Sawan. This temple of Shiva situated on the mountain was in the possession of the British before the independence of the country and they used to hang the freedom fighters here. Since the partition of India, the national flag is also hoisted with Independence Day and Republic Day along with religious flags on this temple. This is the first temple in the country where the tricolor is hoisted. This temple of Shiva, located 7 km from Ranchi railway station, is also known as Pahari Temple. The old name of the Pahari Baba temple was Tiriburu, which later changed to 'Hanging Garry' in British times, because freedom fighters were hanged here under the British Raj. After independence, the first tricolor flag was hoisted here in Ranchi, which was hoisted by a freedom fighter K. C. Das of Ranchi. He hoisted the tricolor in memory and honor of the martyred freedom fighters here. Since that time, the tricolor is hoisted here on Independence Day and Republic Day every year. There is a stone in the hill temple, on which the message of freedom of the country is written on the midnight of August 14 and 15, 1947.

Lord Shiva temple. Good place.

Pahari Mandir, located in Ranchi, is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking spiritual solace and breathtaking views. I recently had the opportunity to visit this iconic temple and was left in awe of its grandeur and the overall experience.

Situated atop a hill, Pahari Mandir offers panoramic views of the entire city of Ranchi. The ascent to the temple involves climbing over 400 steps, which may be a bit challenging for some, but the effort is absolutely worth it. As you climb higher, you are greeted with mesmerizing vistas that make you forget all fatigue.

The temple itself is dedicated to Lord Shiva and houses his gigantic statue. The tranquility inside the temple complex is palpable as devotees offer their prayers and seek blessings. There are also other small shrines dedicated to various Hindu deities scattered around the premises.

One of the standout features of Pahari Mandir is its peaceful ambiance. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this place provides a serene environment where one can meditate or simply sit back and soak in the positive energy that permeates through every corner.

The maintenance at Pahari Mandir deserves special mention. The entire area is well-maintained with clean pathways, proper lighting, and regular cleaning activities by diligent staff members. The cleanliness adds to the overall experience and makes it even more enjoyable for visitors.

Additionally, there are small food stalls outside the temple premises offering snacks and refreshments for visitors who may need a quick bite after their climb or during their descent from the hilltop.

In conclusion, my visit to Pahari Mandir was an unforgettable experience filled with spirituality and scenic beauty. Whether you're seeking divine blessings or simply looking for stunning views of Ranchi cityscape, this place has it all. I highly recommend visiting Pahari Mandir if you're in Ranchi - it's truly a gem that...

Pahadi Mandir in Ranchi is one of the most revered and picturesque temples in Jharkhand, attracting devotees and tourists alike with its spiritual aura and panoramic views. Located atop Ranchi Hill at an altitude of approximately 2,140 feet, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and offers a serene escape from the hustle of the city below. To reach the temple, one must climb nearly 468 steps, which can be a bit challenging but is a deeply rewarding experience for both the spiritually inclined and adventure seekers. As you ascend, the atmosphere gradually transforms — the air becomes cooler, the sounds more tranquil, and the sight of fluttering saffron flags and bells adds to the sense of devotion and peace. At the summit, the breathtaking view of Ranchi city stretched out below is truly mesmerizing, especially during sunrise or sunset. The temple premises are well-maintained, with adequate facilities for devotees, including shaded rest points and drinking water on the way up. During Maha Shivaratri and Shravan, the temple sees an influx of thousands of pilgrims, and the energy is palpable. Moreover, Pahadi Mandir holds historical significance as it was once used during British rule for hoisting the Union Jack, but after independence, it became the first temple in India to hoist the national flag daily. This unique blend of religious, historical, and cultural importance makes Pahadi Mandir not just a place of worship, but a symbol of local pride and patriotism. A visit here offers not just spiritual solace but also a chance to witness the harmonious coexistence of faith, history, and natural beauty in the...
