राजस्थान के खासकर बीकानेर, चुरू, जयपुर, झुझुनू में लोकदेवता मालासी भैरू जी की काफी मान्यता है। इन भैरूजी की पूजा उनके जन्म स्थान और ससुराल दोनों जगह पूजा होती है। उनके देवरे कई जगह है जहां जात—जडूले करने उनके भक्त पहुंचते है। रिक्त्या भैरू उनका असली नाम है। जन्म स्थान राजस्थान के झुंझुनू जिले की नवलगढ़ पंचायत समिति के खिरोड़ गांव में है। जन्म स्थान पर पूजा करने हर साल हजारों परिवार आते है। उनके वंशज गोरूराम भींचर, सतीश भींचर, जगदीश भींचर आदि इसी गांव में रहते है। इस परिवार की गांव में अच्छी पैठ है। वयोवृद्ध सदस्य गोरूराम के अनुसार उनके रिक्ताराम —रिक्त्या उनके दादा थे। यहां पर निसंतान दम्पत्ति मन्नत मांगने आते है। मन्नत पूरी होने पर जीव के बदले जीव के प्रतीक के रूप में बकरा चढ़ाते है।

सुसराल में पूजा

रिक्त्या का विवाह का चुरू जिले के मालासी गांव में मालाराम दहिया जाट की बेटी से हुआ था। बताया जाता है कि यह मालासी गांव मालाराम ने ही बसाया था। रिक्त्या काफी हंस मुख स्वभाव के थे। वे अपनी पत्नी को लेने ससुराल आए हुए थे। शाम को औरतें कुकड़ला गीत गाने लगीं । सालियों और सालों को मजाक सूझी । वे रिक्त्या को लेकर कुएं पर गए और उन्हें उलटा लटका दिया । इस मजाक में उनके हाथ छूट गए और वह कुएं में जा गिरे। इस हादसे में रिक्त्या के प्राण पखेरू उड़ गए। इस घटना के बाद आसपास के गांवों के लोग इकट्ठे हुए और एक राय से फैसला किया कि जंवाई रिक्त्या राम प्रेम के प्रतीक के रूप में कुर्बान हुए अतः ये लोक देवता माने जाएंगे। वह 'रिक्त्या भैरू' के रूप में पूजे जाने लगे। यहां कुएं पर उनका मंदिर बना हुआ है। कुछ परिवरों में जन्म स्थान को लेकर मान्यता है तो कुछ की सुसराल वाले स्थान की। लेकिन, दोनों ही जगह चेत्र और अश्विन नवरात्रों तथा अवसर विशेष पर मेला आयोजित होता है। हरियाणा, पंजाब, दिल्ली, आसाम, मध्य प्रदेश, गुजरात से भी...
