January brings the snow, Makes our feet and fingers glow.

February brings the rain, Thaws the frozen lake again.

March brings breezes, loud and shrill, To stir the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet, Scatters daisies at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs Skipping by their fleecy dams.

June brings tulips, lilies, roses, Fills the childrenтАЩs hands with posies.

Hot July brings cooling showers, Apricots, and gillyflowers.

August brings the sheaves of corn, Then the harvest home is borne.

Warm September brings the fruit; Sportsmen then begin to shoot.

Fresh October brings the pheasant; Then to gather nuts is pleasant.

Dull November brings the blast; Then the leaves are whirling fast.

Chill December brings the sleet, Blazing fire, and Christmas treat.

тАФ Sara Coleridge

In the Garden

We waited for the sun To break its cloudy prison (For day was not yet done, And night still unbegun) Leaning by the dial.

After many a trialтАФ We all silent thereтАФ It burst as new-arisen, Throwing a shade to where Time travelled at that minute.

Little saw we in it, But this much I know, Of lookers on that shade, Her towards whom it made Soonest had to go.

тАФ Thomas Hardy

Bulb Planting Time

Last night he said the dead were dead &nsbp; And scoffed my faith to scorn; I found him at a tulip bed &nsbp; When I passed by at morn.

тАЬO ho!тАЭ said I, тАЬthe frost is near &nsbp; And mist is on the hills, And yet I find you planting here &nsbp; Tulips and daffodils.тАЭ

тАЬтАШTis time to plant them now, тАЭ he said, &nsbp; тАЬIf they shall bloom in SpringтАЭ; тАЬBut every bulb, тАЭ said I, тАЬseems dead, &nsbp; And such an ugly thing.тАЭ

тАЬThe pulse of life I cannot feel, &nsbp; The skin is dried and brown. Now look!тАЭ a bulb beneath my heel &nsbp; I crushed and trampled down.

In anger then he said to me: &nsbp; тАЬYouтАЩve killed a lovely thing; A scarlet blossom that would be &nsbp; Some morning in the Spring.тАЭ

тАЬLast night a greater sin was thine, тАЭ &nsbp; To him I slowly said; тАЬYou trampled on the dead of mine &nsbp; And told me they are dead.тАЭ

тАФ Edgar Guest

Form & Void

For him [the autistic child], everything is form. тАФJane Kessler

Glory be to God for dappled thingsтАж All things counter, original, spare, strangeтАж. тАФGerard Manley Hopkins

The boy is blowing bubbles with his mother, shimmering orbs that glitter and dance on the face of the lawn. He prances after them, staring with the deep mirror of his eyes as they pop and disappear. Flapping his arms, he chases them toward the garden cosmos, their mauve and lilac gowns of silk voile waltzing in the breeze. He orbits around his mother as she dips in her wand, produces these baubles from breath and film. The glassy bubbles rise in a swirl of pink and blue, a momentтАЩs iridescence. This is the only magic the mother can conjure; she cannot help him talk or say his name. But they can do this together, blow bubbles on a breezy afternoon, make a strand of hand-blown beads to grace the throat of the lawn.

тАФ Barbara Crooker, author of Selected Poems

Green Groweth the Holly

Green groweth the holly, So doth the ivy. Though winter blasts blow never so high, Green groweth the holly.

As the holly groweth green And never changeth hue, So I am, ever hath been, Unto my lady true.

As the holly groweth green With ivy all alone When flowers cannot be seen And greenwood leaves be gone,

Now unto my lady Promise to her I make, From all other only To her I me betake.

Adieu, mine own lady, Adieu, my special Who hath my heart truly Be sure, and ever shall.

This is one of the few place in Jodhpur, you must visit. Umed Garden can be reached either from Jodhpur Railway Station or from Raika Bagh palace. The distance is approximately same from both the place. There are various avenues of transportation to reach this place. Located in the vicinity of army area. Umed Garden includes both a hotel where you can stay and king's palace. Only the later is open to the public. Entry fee is тВ╣30 for Indians. Umed palace is named after the king's name. The normal public can access a variety of counters which depicts various paintings, images of ancestors of the king and queen, arms and ammunition, various aircrafts etc. It also has a display center where you will find various model of royal cars. In short the umed palace basically shows off the lifestyle of then kings and queen and how they used to indulge in various social services.

The Umaid Bhawan Palace is having more than 300 rooms but they do not show us most or even half of them in our visit there. They only show 6 to 9 areas as museum and that's it all. The watches collection is the main attraction within the palace and the garden in front of the palace is the other main point of attraction. I felt like it just started a few minutes ago and it ended soon. So it was not a good experience for me personally. Though it should be visited at least once to see the palace. It looks so beautiful from outside and the garden will definitely be into your camera's shots as soon as you arrive there. There is also a vintage cars collection area beside the garden in front of the Umaid Bhawan Palace. But it is a very good place for photography so you may get good selfies or group photos here and you'll love your photos.
