The temples built during early Chalukya times between 6th and 11th century CE, are largely in ruins, except for some mandapas and standing pillars. What appears today to be a small village surrounded by farmlands and hillocks, Aihole is a historic archaeological site featuring over 120 stone and cave temples from 6th century to 12th century CE.

Stepwell is well maintained by ASI. We spend 20 minutes here. Temples are small compared to Durga group of monuments. Some temples are dedicated to shiva, ganesha, kartikeya and parvati. Nice monuments.
