The sculpture is on top of a large mountain, without cable car, you can climb the mountain by steps. The steps are very steep, narrow and does not look safely laid out at certain areas. It will take a very long time to climb the steep mountain, unless you are super healthy, use the cable car.
To reach the top of Jatayu Mountain, where the Jatayu sculpture is located, you can either climb the 826 steps or take the cable car, which takes about 7 minutes.

The walkway to the top consists of 826 steps.
The walkway is made using around 60,000 stones chiselled to perfection.

Interesting Facts about Jatayu Earth Center: Its opened on 4th July 2018 which is 1000 feet above sea level. This is the first park in India which has been built under Public and Private Partnership. This is basically a collaboration between the Tourism department of Kerala and Mr. Rajiv Anchal. Jatayu Statue is so big in size that length is 200 feet, width is 150 feet and height is 70 feet. Jatayu structure have a floor area of 15000 square feet. It is the largest functional bird sculpture in the world that has marked its name into the Guinness Book of World Records. This statue of Jatayu is an exceptional art work of a sculptor, and art director Mr. Rajiv Anchal who with his team devoted 10 years to build it on a rock named Jatayupara. Jatayu Earth's Center includes four hills that makeup the entire campus. First one is Jatayu Rock Hill which is the major attraction of the center where the Sculpture lies. Second one is Adventure Rock hill which provides tourists with a huge range of adventurous activities. Third one is Elephant Rock hill which has 250 meter Sky cycling and Zip lining- and also one can enjoy moonlight dinner and campfires along with live music. Fourth and last one is Kitchen Rock hill which serves as a wellness center that involves traditional rejuvenation and wellness therapy inside natural caves. Most interesting fact about this Earth's center is, its focus on environmental sustainability in its design which includes rainwater irrigation system, Solar powered electricity and planned organic farms.
Tips to Help you while you plan your visit. Please check the weather forecast before planning your visit as Cable car rides are put to halt due to unfavorable weather conditions. We reached there without seeing weather conditions and came to know that Cable ride is not available. so we reached to the top by climbing 600+ steps. So please check the weather condition before plan your activity. There are Auto's and Taxis are available from Chadayamangalam. So you can use of them if you are not having your own vehicle. There are many options to reach to Chadayamangalam either from Trivandrum or from Kollam If available buy tickets online as live counter generally crowded. Please plan your trip early in the morning if possible so that you can enjoy breezy atmosphere while reaching on top Don't carry any luggage and water bottles if you you are reaching by Steps as they have provided drinking water in your path way. Also Snacks counters are available on top side of the Jatayu Earth's Center Most of the tourist's not aware that being a sightseeing spot, Jatayu Earth's Center is a hub for entertainment where one can enjoy activities like paintball, rappelling, free climbing, Shooting etc. There all are part of adventure park.
