From online websites when I read about Jatayu, it was suggesting to book tickets online, however the site was not allowing to book one. Called the Jatayu Earth Centre for enquiry and they were very helpful and professional. They suggested to directly come down for booking as they are not taking any bookings via online now.

Once you reach there, you will be mesmerised on how this property is maintained. Landscaping and buildings are world class. Washrooms are well maintained.

You have two options, one is to take cable car or climb the stairs. Entry Ticket with Cable Car costed us ~610 per head. The first counter will only take the entry ticket and for cable car you will have to pay in a separate counter. First counter accepts only cash. No card or UPI mode of payments available which for some will be a bummer.

Second counter for cable car payment has card payment available. But still advise you carry some cash in hand. Payment covers to and fro charges.

Once the payment is done, they will ask you sit in order or arrival to take it via cable car for which some 10-15 mins waiting would be there. In the meantime, you have some options for quick bites in a cafe in the same floor which serves fresh juices, puffs, sandwiches etc. they accept UPI payment.

Cable car takes max 8 per cabin and this again depends upon season and rush.

The cable car ride was a great experience and a must try if you have not experienced it before.

Once we reached up, we were fully mesmerised by the scale and beauty of the structure. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. They were proactive always in helping. Lot of places to enjoy the scenery of the landscape surrounding this monument.

Overall, this was a great experience for a one time visit. Recommendation would be plan your visit during morning or evening and avoid noon time which can be...

Visiting Jatayu Earth’s Center was a truly unique and memorable experience. The place is known for its giant sculpture of the mythical bird Jatayu from the Ramayana, and it definitely lives up to the hype. The location is stunning — set on a rocky hilltop, surrounded by beautiful views and nature. It’s not just a photo spot; it carries mythological and cultural significance, especially with the footprint of Lord Rama found there, which adds a spiritual touch to the visit.

However, a few things to keep in mind for anyone planning a visit:

Carry Cash: Online payments are not accepted at several places, including the ticket counter and food stalls, so it’s essential to bring enough cash.

Carry an Umbrella or Cap: The sculpture and surrounding area are built on open rocks, which means you’ll be exposed to direct sunlight for most of your visit. It can get really hot, especially during midday, so having an umbrella or something to cover your head is a must.

Stay Hydrated: Bring your own water bottles. You’ll be doing some walking and possibly waiting in line, so staying hydrated is important.

-Ticket Cost: The entry ticket ranges from ₹1200 to ₹1500 per person, which includes the ride in the “Udan Khatola” (cable car) that takes you up the hill. The ride itself is smooth and gives you a great aerial view of the area.

Museum Coming Soon: There’s a museum currently under development at the site, which should make future visits even more interesting. It’s already a great blend of culture and nature, and this addition will only improve the experience.

All in all, Jatayu Earth’s Center is a must-visit for anyone traveling through Kerala. It’s a peaceful, powerful place where mythology and natural beauty come together. Highly recommended for families, culture lovers, and photography...

We started from Thiruvananthapuram at 3.10pm and reached Jayatu centre at around 4.35pm. There is a parking fee of 30₹they collect before entering the place. After parking we went to ticket centre where they charge 236₹ per person (no card or UPI payment accepted) for entering the jatayu place. Then they have another counter(accepts card payments) where they charge 265₹ per person for cable car. We had to walk three floors to reach the cable car. The cable car slowly reached the top and we were in front of this incredible statue. As it was weekend only few people were there to visit it. We took pictures and video of the place and had coffee for 30₹from the top. The last cable car back to the base point was at 6.30pm and we had enjoyed the view and the trip.

Now to cons and pros

Pros: Well maintained interiors International standards of cleanliness Good idea of building this bird statue Great view Sip coffee and enjoy the view As it is related to Sita Devi from Ramayana, more women are employed here Parking facility is good Friendly staffs Clean toilets

Cons: Accessibility for senior citizens and specially abled people is a mess First counter doesn't accept Google pay or card payments Cable car lacks fan, lights or anything. Two tickets from different counters is complicated Adding GST as extra is a torture Could have added lights and took people at night till 8pm for more wonderful view Parking should be free according to rules. Could have added more adventures into it even after years of opening.

Overall...
