The reviews were great on Airbnb, so we decided to book here for a different experience. There was some hitch while booking so we called a person named Mr. Suresh, who assured us that the place was booked for the weekend, we should have listened. We saw the bookings open on Airbnb & went ahead. First of all it's a lovely property, accessible by a narrow road which winds down. Their home is beautiful, they have given one small room for rent, must be a servant room by the look of it. It's on the ground floor housed with the art gallery. All day there are people in the adjoining room, which lies between the art gallery and this room. Though your door is locked, no peace or privacy. None of the reviewers wrote there is an amusement park, on the next plot. The whole day there were screams from revellers. On reaching in the afternoon, I asked one of the maids for tea, she flatly refused, saying that there was a kitchenette with enough supplies, to make tea ourselves. They served us breakfast at 10 am the next day, delicious poha, omelette. Again I asked for a large mug of tea. The cook got cups & a large mug & promptly gave the mug to own of the owners, in a case of snubbing? This is the attitude, I feel with Airbnb, these people want the money yet are very stingy in sharing their home. No TV, no place to move about at night. Their art gallery has fabulous stuff, the prices though on the higher side justify the labour involved. Do visit the gallery, but don't stay over. We have removed the Airbnb app. Will not be booking through...

The village is a hidden gem, seamlessly blending art, culture, and nature in a way that feels both authentic and inspiring. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by an array of beautifully crafted sculptures, paintings, and handcrafted artifacts that showcased the rich heritage and incredible talent of the local artisans.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Devrai Art Village is its commitment to sustainable practices and eco-friendly art. The artists use natural materials and traditional techniques, creating masterpieces that are not only stunning but also environmentally conscious. Walking through the village, surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil landscapes, was a serene and rejuvenating experience.
In summary, Devrai Art Village is a must-visit for anyone interested in art and culture. The dedication to preserving traditional art forms, the serene environment, and the educational opportunities make it a truly enriching and inspiring destination. Read moreDevrai Art Village is an exemplary showcase of fine arts and hard work by those local artists. It seems not so known place in Mahabaleshwar. It's just off the right side of main road that leads to Wai from Mahabaleshwar. Almost all articles are made up of iron. Right from wall hanging to paintings. Even paintings are revovled around metal article placed at center. Wall hanging such as tree with full of leaves with bird sitting on them looks awesome and am sure it will be eye catching in your home. You will see small metal lokates of different kind. There are some hollow wodden master pieces, seems made of single wodden piece.
Looking at all these item any art lover will tempt to have one or two of them in their home. Only thing I am concerned about is nothing but their prices. I mean each item is so costly that even if you want to buy something you end up in Window Shopping. Few painting where one small piece of metal art is placed at center and artist has drawn painting around it costs more than 7.5K+ pure metalic article ranges from 7K to 20+K. Anyway, but hardwork displaces in those items. And for eye catching experience in your home one can buy...
