Harishchandragad | Kokan Kada | Lord Shiva Temple | कोकण कडा । हरीचंद्र गड । शिवमंदिर । नयनरम्य सह्याद्री पर्वत This cliff is not just vertical, it is an overhang, almost like a Cobra's Hood.... I have been climbed it once dated 10th Nov-18. Its beyond description, one should actually see it to experience the nature's architecture. Konkan kada shall be visited in the evening as well as morning. In evening one is enchanted by the sunset where as in the morning one can experience the divine feeling of being in the heavens. This Harishchandragad situated at the Top of Malshej Ghat is around 100 km from Kalyan railway junction and one can easily reach kalyan by central railway. From Kalyan you can board a state transport bus or private vehicle going through Malshej Ghat. S.T. bus will drop you at Khubi Phata (Next to MTDC Resort) from Khubi Phata its an hour walk to Khireshwar base village. Actual climbing is from Khireshwar Village to Tolar Khind (about 2 hour climbing (depends on your speed). After Tolar Khind there is a rock patch. Precaution and easy steps see you through it. Once the rock patch is gone it is a simple walk up and down small hills to the caves of Harishchandragad (for next 1 hour) is necessarily I must suggest a two day trek , one can do the overnight stay in the Rock Caves (Free) or Tents (₹500/ night), which are clean and well maintained places on Top of Sahyadri Mountain Range. Visit and know...

I strongly recommend CAMPING. The local people have made many options for stay. At top , in village or at Harishchandra gad . They provide food also. Ask local people for directions. Google is good but local can lead you better. Four wheeler Or traveller is on top priority. Believe me, if you don't listen to my above advice about vehicle you will regret it if you are planning one day trip. Roads are so damaged. So take care. Carry extra fuel with you.
