Mr. Masge and his family were very kind and welcoming. The host had in depth knowledge about the Thakar community, their versatile folk arts and performing arts including various songs and theatre forms and puppet shows. There is also a well curated agriculture museum with ancient implements. The Folk culture museum has various figurines of deities, various performing arts such as Radha nritya, pothraj, baithakicha powada, pangalcha bail. We were amazed about the way the items have been curated as a personal museum. The ambience is wonderful with murals of Ramayan through folk art. It's a well-maintained curation in an AC premises and comprehensive collection from the family and community.

Thakarwadi Tribal Museum, Located in Pinguli kudal, this museum focuses on the lifestyle and traditions of the tribal people in the region, offering a glimpse into their daily lives and cultural practices. This museum highlights his contributions to India's tribal history and features artifacts, photographs narrating his story. Many Arts of 300 yrs ago are there. Many konkani traditional things are kept sefely in this museum. Best for quick visit with kids.

I really liked the museum. The woman met us at the entrance and gave us a tour. She didn't speak English, but we communicated with gestures and everything was clear. We used Google Translate. The place is really interesting for those who are interested in the history and culture of these places. If you are passing through and don't know the language, don't worry, you will still find it interesting and exciting.

As the world is evolving, lifestyles are changing. But to make us aware of the lost lifestyle of Adiwasi people in Konkan region, Shri Ganpat Masge, started this museum and his family members support him. This family introduces us to how the Thakar community people were living, their musical instruments, clothes etc. Do not miss the demo of musical instruments. Its fascinating and beyond imagination. I wont say much but will recommend all to visit this place to experience it. There is a nominal ticket which helps them in upkeeping of the museum. A place worth visiting and do support them by visiting and shopping in the...
