Botanical Garden — Attraction in Nagaland

The only reason I'm rating it a three star is because of the fond memories I have at this place, I hardly witnessed any change in maintenance of the botanical garden after 2010, this place used to be frequently visited by youths and the place offered a great view of the Kohima town and the tree house used to be our favourite during our childhood, the last time I visited the place it was pathetic, one can only pity upon the condition, considering this place was home to many indigenous flora but over the years the authorities have not maintained it well, the place is only...

Due to ill maintenance and ignorance by authorities, the place is more like a jungle than a garden, however, there are few rare varieties of bushes, shrubs, flowers and trees here. There is a dedicated succulent garden (includes various orchids) and other small garden variety plants There are 2 watch tower's on the 'happy walk' Caution: use good quality shoes with plenty of grip and full sleeved clothes while roaming around here

Botanical Garden maintained by Forest Dept., Govt of Nagaland. Open on all days except Sundays. Large area but developed area is limited with some herbal gardens, different varieties of roses, indigenous trees, etc and a view point of Kohima town. Cool shaded area with a small ground and children's park. Parking space available inside. Ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the town, however, maintenance is not up to the mark.
