We have started from Pune in the early morning around 6 AM in a Xylo vehicle...reached Shirdi around 10 AM..We have already booked for the darshan (each 100 rupees through online official website) for that day @ 11 AM..So, we comfortably reached and entered into the greatest temple :) ... It was Wednesday and there was no heavy rush luckily..it took around 30 mins for the main darshan. Later, we visited all the nearby temples of Hanuman, Vinayaka, Neem Tree, Nanaji's place, Chavadi, other baba devotees samadhis etc. It takes approximately 30 mins.
We sat for around 1 hour in the Baba's place - Dwarakamayi (I think, it's a Maszid) and watched the Mangala Harathi broadcast in the TV placed inside from 12 Noon to 12:30 PM chanting Sri Sai. Its lucky for everyone to be there for some time where Baba himself lived for many years. In the Dwarakamayi, we can see Dhuni (Continuous Fire with Wooden logs/pieces), Flour Grinder, Baba's sitting place, stove for food preparation etc.. These were used by the lord Sai himself and we are blessed to see them, even touch few of them :)
There is a Neem tree when you come out of Sai baba's Samadhi darshan, for which people use to do pradakshinams. If someone is planning to do it, early mornings like 4 am is better. When, we wanted to do at 11:30 AM, it was blocked at one corner and hence, can't do full pradakshinam, they were not allowing at that time, may be due to rush.
Outside of the main premises, there is a park. It's Baba's garden, where he was watering the plants taking the water from a well (which can be seen). Its pleasant to be there for a while at least.
After all, we had a good lunch @ Sai Chithram restaurant (Got Andhra meals :) which we wanted to) that's on the main road, few meters from the temple.
We started to visit Sri Shaneswara Swami temple (Its a famous and powerful one around), it is 90 kms from Shirdi. The road is not well, but can manage. You see more Sugarcane juice spots..better to have 2 or more ;) as its natural and fresh. We had a nice darshan, it took appr. 30 mins.
Then, started back to Pune, its a different route via Sri Shaneswara Swamy temple. However, the distance wise, its almost same as onward journey from Pune to Shirdi. We reached Pune at around 8:30 PM.
Amount wise...For Xylo AC, charged 12 rupees per kilometer. For Pune - Shirdi - Sri Shaneswara Swamy Shrine - Pune, total was 6200 Rupees.
I hope my experience will give you little...
Read moreJai Sai Baba, the name it self gives you peace and Power. Temple is located in very good location but not well kept and utilised. First experience was not great, at 12.30 they were cleaning the floors. No body was there to give prasad. Priest sitting there were in sleeping mood. Free Parking and 2 prasad shops available outside. Accept offering in form of atta, sugar, ghee etc. But no specific or regular time for conducting bhandara.
Reply of owner- In response to my message owners response is very poor and full of arrogance. I am not looking to eat bhandara but infact wanted to contribute. Also if priests are not doing there duty, its our right to inform. Its pity on your thinking, will pray to Sai baba to give you...
