Barunei Hill Top Tower — Attraction in Odisha

So the past year had been pretty eventless for me. All I did was sit at my desk and study. And when I finally got some leisure, I researched nearby trekking areas and Barunei hills popped up. I remember the last time I visited the temple some 16 years back during a school picnic. Trekking in the month of June in Bhubaneswar sounds unrealistic, however, we decided to give it a shot. Barunei hills are 18 kilometres from my place. We left my place at 4:30 in the morning to reach the base early to avoid the sun during the ascent. It was a pleasant drive via NH5 to Barunei junction and a 5 KMs diversion further to the left from the highway to reach our destination. We reached there by 5:30 and began the hike. This was my second hiking in India. It was easier and 'more accomodating' than the first one (Pandava Bakhara). Most of the hiking track had a lot of cover which sheltered us away from the direct sunlight while the occasional breeze helped to cool our bodies. Just at the foot of the hill where you start the hike, there are some shops selling cooled water, so make sure to grab some if you didn't come with any. While the view from the top is amazing, there is just a dull structure with a tiny flag-like thing and nothing fun to give you a feeling of accomplishment (at Pandava Bakhara there is a flag which gives a good feeling of accomplishment and also comes in handy for taking pictures).
