😍Hanuman Vatika

Hanuman Vatika Hanuman Vatika named after one of the highest statue of Hanuman. Inaugurated in the year 1994 by the then Chief Minister of Orissa, Biju Patnaik. Here a statue of Hanuman is constructed with the height of 75 feet. There are also a number of temples named as Bata Managla, Binayak, Vaishnodevi, Sarala, Dwadash Linga, Siva, Santoshi Maa, Maa Laxmi etc constructed here for the devotees. Because of beauty scenario and green area, number of general visitors came to this place every day here.

Number of annual devotional programmes organised at this place which includes foundation day programme on 23rd February, Shivaratri, Rathayatra etc. found it quite average place for someone who is traveller and want to explore something . Good thing about compound is that there is so much peace around here . several temples of different hindu gods make this place holy and makes a good choice to visit for someone who is religious like my mom. Statute here is quite mesmerizing and the only things which i found pretty good . garden around temples are quite poorly managed Trawel Attractions near Hanuman Vatika, Rourkela Attractions similar to Hanuman Vatika, Rourkela IN ROURKELA Hanuman Vatika is situated adjacent to Rourkela General Hospital, beside the Rourkela Ring Road, in the state of Odisha. The place is well connected via all means of transports. Rourkela railway station is the nearest railway station, being 4. 1 km away and the driving time is 10 minutes.

Hanuman Vatika literally means the garden belonging to Hanuman. This garden houses the Asia's tallest statue of Hanuman which was built by Sri Lakshman Swami of Hyderabad. The height of the Hanuman statue is 75 feet and 9 inches. The garden has a sprawling campus area of 13 acres. Inside the premises, there are 12 Jyotirlingas, like Batta Mangala Devi, Sarala Devi Temple, Jagannath Temple, Lakshmi and Santoshi Mata Temple etc. constructed here for the devotees.

Due to the presence of these shrines, this calm tourist destination is more popular among the locals as a place of pilgrimage. One Kalyan Mandap is built to accommodate public gatherings and for various social functions like marriage, Bratostaba, Ekoishia etc. The newly established Sai Baba temple is the favourite of the devotees, the idol of which is very similar to the idol of the one situated in Shirdi Sai Baba. Prasad in food packets are available here for devotees and tourists on payment.

Hanuman Vatika celebrates number of annual devotional programmes such as Shivaratri, Ratha Yatra etc. at a very large scale. Every year on 23rd February, foundation day is celebrated with great zeal and fervour. People ideally spend 1 to 2 hours in this serene and divine garden, offering prayers to the revered deities and enjoying the calm and peaceful ambience. A stroll here is a wonderful experience. Best time to visit the park would be anytime between the months of October to March.

Puja materials, Prasad and all kind of snacks are available in the shops of temple premises. Hanuman Vatika remains open from morning till evening and there are no specific timings to visit the temple. It is however suggested to visit the garden during the early morning hours or the late evening hours as the weather is pleasant for a walk. There are no charges for entering the temple, however there are charges for using the camera in...

Recently I have visited Shree Hanuman Vatika Which was built around the year 1994 and is located in Rourkela, in a state in India called Odisha. Vatika is a Sanskrit word which refers to garden in English. This garden was built for the 74 feet 9 inches tall Lord Hanuman idol situated within the premises, hence the name Hanuman Vatika. It is the tallest Lord Hanuman idol ever built in the world. There are other idols and temples built within the premises of the Hanuman Vatika, like the Sarala Devi Temple, Batta Mangala Devi, Lakshmi, Jagannath Temple, Santoshi Mata Temple and other temples along with the Lord Hanuman Statue. More temples and idols are also being added in the garden, the most recent one being the idol of Sai Baba.

Since various idols and end numbers of temples are present within the premises of the Hanuman Vatika and to see the 74 feet 9 inches tall Lord Hanuman Idol, people from various states and across the country are visiting the park ever since it was built. As the park is being maintained properly by the state government, more idols are being added and this site has become one of the most visited tourist attraction sites in Odisha. During a recent trip to Rourkela, my friends and I visited Shree Hanuman Vatika in Udit Nagar. We took an auto from Rourkela railway station, and the driver charged us ₹200, which felt a bit overpriced for the distance, but the visit itself made up for it. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the breathtaking sight of the gigantic Hanuman Ji statue, one of the tallest in Asia. Its sheer size left us stunned, and the peaceful environment around it added to the spiritual vibe. The temple complex is beautifully designed, with several smaller temples arranged in a circular manner, each dedicated to different deities. Walking barefoot through the clean, well-maintained pathways gave us a calming and divine experience. Although the place was lively with visitors, it wasn’t overcrowded, so we could take our time enjoying the serenity. One thing to note is that there isn’t a dedicated parking area, which could be a drawback for those visiting in private vehicles. For families with children, there are fun stalls and small rides available, such as a mini car ride costing around ₹100 for 10 minutes, which children seemed to enjoy a lot. There were also snack stalls and local vendors selling religious items and toys, adding to the festive vibe. Overall, Shree Hanuman Vatika is not just a temple but a peaceful spiritual park perfect for families, devotees, or tourists. The combination of the towering Hanuman statue, serene atmosphere, and multiple temples makes it a must-visit in Rourkela. If you’re traveling by auto, try negotiating fares beforehand, and be prepared to walk barefoot for the full experience. We left feeling refreshed, amazed, and spiritually fulfilled.
