I was staying in Khadakmalali. Parvati temple was just 5 minutes walk from my residence. There was a short way from Subashnagar area. I remember going there with my brother and sister and friends. We used to go cycling, leave our bikes near the hill and climb running up the hill early morning daily at 6 a.m. There are 103 steps. In between there are benches but we never stopped to rest . After reaching the top we could see the panoramic view of Pune. Just can't forget this beautiful view. It has 5 temples, the Devdeveshwar temple of lord Shiv and Parvati which is the main temple completed under the 8th Peshwa of Maratha Empire Balaji Bajirao Bhat also known as Nana Saheb. The next is Karthikeya temple known as Murugan and Subramanya who is the son of Lord Shiv and Parvati and brother of Ganesha. The third temple is Vishnu temple who is the controller of entire universe and the Preserver among the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Mahadeva) Brahma is the creator, Vishnu is the Preserver and Mahadeva or Shiva is the destroyer. The fourth temple is Vitthal temple also known as Panduranga who is a dark young boy , a Hindu diety and manifestation of Lord Vishnu or his eighth avatar Krishna. The fifth temple is Rama temple who is the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. Visiting all these temples gives a great feeling and you feel you are blessed. Parvati Hill Temples is believed to be built during 17th century. Located on top of Parvati Hill, the temple enshrines the idols of Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishu, Devateshwar and Lord Karthikeya. In olden times, this temple solely served as the place of worship of Peshwa rulers.

The hill temple can be reached by scaling 108 steps marked by specialised stone architectural works of Maratha style. At the Parvati Museum, located nearby, old manuscripts, rare coins and weapons, Sati Monument and Vetal Chabutra are housed.
