⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “A Hilltop Heritage Jewel — Where History Meets the Horizon!”

“Climbing up around 103 elegant stone steps, you suddenly enter a realm where Maratha history, quiet spirituality, and sweeping city views converge. This isn't just a temple — it's a timeless experience etched into Pune's skyline.”

What Makes It Unforgettable

Deep Roots of History: Built by Nanasaheb Peshwa in 1749 to honor his mother Kashibai, the main shrine honors Lord Shiva ("Devdeveshwar") and houses his consort Parvati alongside treasured idols. In 1760, a gold-plated pinnacle (kumbha) was added, elevating its architectural grandeur .

Heritage-Rich Temple Cluster: The complex includes five temples — Devdeveshwar (Shiva-Parvati), Vitthal-Rukmini, Vishnu, Kartikeya, and Rama — each reflecting Maratha-era aesthetics and devotion .

Panoramic Vistas & Vibrant Vibe: The temple stands at one of Pune’s highest vantage points, offering panoramic views at sunrise or sunset that turn the whole city into a living canvas below .

Peshwa Museum Nostalgia: The adjacent museum houses Maratha-era relics — swords, coins, palanquins, manuscripts, and artifacts — enriching the visit with history and cultural insights .

Gentle, Historic Ascent: The climb of about 103 black stone steps is architectural craftsmanship in itself—wide enough for an elephant’s march, yet accessible even to elder visitors with some caution .

“Every visit to Pune deserves a detour up––literally and figuratively. The climb up ~103 historic stone steps to the Shree Devdeveshwar Temple is both invigorating and transformative. Once atop Parvati Hill, you’re greeted with Maratha-era temples shimmering under the sun and framed by the city's vast panorama.

Built in 1749 by Nanasaheb Peshwa to fulfill a vow to his mother, the temple’s gold-studded pinnacle and devotion-filled shrines echo history at every step. The Peshwa museum next door, modestly priced at ₹10, lets you peek into the era’s artifacts, from weapons to manuscripts.

No entry fee! Just bring energy, wear comfy shoes, and arrive in early morning or at sunset — the view is worth every breath (and hassle-free stroll up those grand steps). A historically rich, spiritually peaceful, and visually breathtaking...

This is very nice and beautiful place in Pune.

Parvati Hill is one of the most attractive places in an around Pune City in Maharashtra, India. The Parvati Hill is essentially a religious citadel but it also caters a grand natural exuberance.

The Pravati Hill is actually a hillock that rises almost 2100 feet above the sea surface. Pune being a highland itself brings down the effective altitude of the Parvati Hill to only 263 feet, thus the hill becomes a hillock. There is the temple of Devdevshwara, dedicated to Lord Shiva & Lady Parvati, atop the hill with other four temples dedicated to many deities such as Lord Vishnu, Lord Kartikeya, Vitthal & Rukmini etc. The main temple is made with pure Blackstone and was built by Balaji Bajirao during the Peshwa reign in the year 1749 of Common Era.

The temple is actually the apex of the hillock and to get there travellers have to scale a flight of 103 stairs. The viewpoint at the top gives a great panoramic view of the whole Pune City and the Western Ghats. This green hillock is a great tourist spot for any and...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Beautiful Spiritual Experience at Shree Devdeveshwar Temple (Parvati Temple), Pune 🙏

Hi all! Me and my friend visited the Shree Devdeveshwar Temple (Parvati Temple) after exploring Mahabaleshwar Temple and Krishnabai Mandir. Honestly, we didn’t know that Maa Parvati Devi has a separate temple, so this was a wonderful surprise!

A Bit of History: This temple is deeply rooted in Maratha history and the Peshwa era. It was built in 1749 by the Peshwa ruler Balaji Baji Rao (Nana Saheb Peshwa) after his mother, Kashibai, recovered from an illness by praying to Goddess Parvati here. Before that, a shrine at this location was reportedly built by a local Patil, Navloji Taware, who followed his mother’s dream. Later, Kashibai also prayed for her recovery at the same spot, and her son, Nana Saheb Peshwa, constructed the temple we see today.

Architectural and Cultural Significance: The temple’s intricate architecture and its location atop Parvati Hill offer a breathtaking panoramic view of Pune city. It’s a popular pilgrimage site and a true testament to the devotion and rich cultural heritage of the Peshwa rulers.

After the Visit: Following this, we also visited the famous Shrimant Dagdusheth Ganpati Halwai Mandir located in Pune city to complete our spiritual journey.

If you’re in Pune, visiting this temple is a must — both for its spiritual ambiance and the historical legacy it carries.

Har Har...
