Smritivan as its named is a place where we can create fond memories as well as we have an option to adopt a tree there.. So we went together with family at smritivan for naming a plant for my uncle who is no more with us… By keeping the tree all Healthy and green we will always remember the best times shared with my uncle- mama in marathi, The place is clean neat has a gazebo to sit and have good parking place to keep the cars parked before we walk into the trees and the walkway helps Us go around all the area in a simple way Children loved the place as they could appt different birds who were visitors at smritivan...
Read moreIt is a nice hill, ideal for morning walk or evening stroll. Lot of tree plantation done and trees are growing on their own now. After 3-4 years, the trees will be great. You get a very good view of Mutha river, Nanded City and Warje area. There are benches and small huts constructed, to sit and relax, people also do yoga and meditation there.
Opening time is 6 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM. So far, it's quiet, no much crowd.
Note - there is slum area on East Side of the hill. Use approach road from Ganpati matha. 4W, 2W can be parked...
Read moreI had been to the Smriti Van today which is an urban forest being managed by Terre Policy Centre, a NGO and Tata Motors as a CSR. The dedicated staff maintains the forest well. The Van also provides an opportunity to people to adopt trees for a contribution of ₹ 2500/- per tree. A plate in honour of the person to whom it is dedicated is also placed near the tree. A little far away for me but I would have loved to take walks here. A great place, hope the forest is permitted to continue...
