Gurudwara Qila Anandgarh Sahib is situated on another spur, about 800 metres south-east of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib. It is a newly constructed building though marks of the old, original structure are also still traceable. Gurudwara Shri Qila Anandgarh Sahib is situated in the middle of the town of Shri Anandpur Sahib. This is one from five Kilas (forts) built by Guru Gobind Singh for the protection of Sikhs and other residents from the Mughals and the Hill rulers. In Gurdwara Sahib there is also a sacred Baoli sahib. It is situated in the south east side of Gurdwara Sri Takhat Keshgarh Sahib. "Gurdwara Kila Sri Anandgarh Sahib" This is one of Guru Gobind Singh's five forts (Kila or Qila). After winning the Battle of Bangani and during the period from 1689 to 1705, the Mughals and the hill Rajas (Kings of the surrounding Hill regions) fought many battle with the Sikhs. Inside see the Baoli sahib ("walk-in well") from the Guru period; after the request by the Sikhs to the Guru to leave the fort, it was from this building that all the Sikhs and the Guru departed after the Mughals and the Hill Rajas had made their written promises of safe passage to the Guru and the Sikhs. This Gurdwara was one of the five forts constructed by Guru Gobind Singh atAnandpur Sahib for the defense of the Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh spent 25 years at Anandpur Sahib. To protect the Sikhs from the hill Rajas or Mughals, Guru Gobind Singh began the construction of five defensive forts all around the town.Keshgarh at the center (now a Takht), Anandgarh (fort of bliss), Lohgarh (fort of steel), Holgarh (fort of colour) and Fatehgarh (fort of victory). All the forts were joined together with earthworks and underground tunnels. The construction began in 1689 and took over ten years to complete. The present building complex was raised during the 1970's by Sant Seva Singh (d. 1982) whose successors are now managing and further developing it.Earlier, during the 1930's, Kartar Singh Kalasvalia had got a fort-like building constructed which is still intact on top of the hillock. The present Gurdwara, separated from this building by a spacious terrace paved with slabs of streaked marble, is a 15-metre square hall with an 8x3 metre porch in front. The 6-metre square sanctum within the hall has above it a lotus dome topped with a gilded pinnacle and khanda as a fmial. The entire wall surface has a facing of streaked marble. This building was completed in 1970. The water level of an old baoli, a stepped well 4-metre in diameter, is approached through a covered passage. The baoli has 135 marbled steps. At the lower levels on the eastern flank of the main building are a spacious hall for Guru ka Langar constructed in 1972, and 300 rooms for pilgrims and administrators.

Anandgarh Fort, located in the sacred town of Anandpur Sahib, is a monumental site that holds immense historical and spiritual significance in Sikh history. Built by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, this fort served as a key defensive structure during the tumultuous times of the 17th century and symbolizes the resilience, courage, and visionary leadership of the tenth Sikh Guru. The fort is one of the five historical forts of Anandpur Sahib, collectively known as "Panj Garhi." Anandgarh was the main fort and served as the Guru's residence and a strategic center for planning and organizing the Sikh resistance against the Mughal and Hill Ruler forces. The fort also embodies the principles of justice and self-defense that are central to Sikhism. The current structure, though rebuilt and preserved, retains its historical essence and stands as a testament to the valor and sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his Khalsa warriors. The architecture reflects the fort’s strategic importance, with its elevated position offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Walking through its corridors and courtyards, one can almost hear the echoes of history and feel the indomitable spirit of the Sikh community. The fort also houses a museum that showcases artifacts, weapons, and manuscripts, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich Sikh heritage and the legacy of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Visiting Anandgarh Fort is a deeply moving experience that connects you to the Sikh ideals of bravery, faith, and justice. Its serene environment and historical significance make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Sikh history or seeking inspiration from the incredible sacrifices made for righteousness and freedom.

Anandpur Sahib is known as City of Bliss where you’ll find alot of Sikhs around the City. It’s a very peaceful place. Some history of Anandpur Sahib: Anandpur Sahib, one of the holiest Sikh sites, was founded by Guru Tegh Bahadur. He lived in the Guru ka Mahal in the old quarter of the town. A museum dedicated to, and named after him, displays a collection of oil paintings depicting the trials and tribulations of his times. A shrine has also been raised in honour of Bhai Jaitha, who carried Guru Tegh Bahadur’s head from Delhi to Punjab, after the Guru’s execution. Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, the town’s most sacred shrine, built on a hillock with the lower Shivaliks as a backdrop, is where Guru Gobind Singh formed the Khalsa Panth (Sikh Nation).
