Brahma Kund, Rajgir (Bihar)

Brahma Kund is a famous and holy hot water pond located in Rajgir, Bihar. It is one of the most popular tourist and religious places in the area. People believe that this kund (pond) was created by Lord Brahma, and that is why it is called Brahma Kund.

The water in Brahma Kund is naturally hot. It comes from seven different hot springs that are also called Saptadhara. These springs flow from the nearby Vaibhav Hills and mix together in Brahma Kund. Many people say that the water has medicinal properties and can help in curing skin problems and joint pain. Bathing here feels very relaxing, especially during the winter season.

It is also believed that Lord Buddha and Lord Mahavira had visited this place and bathed here, which makes it even more special for both Hindus and Jains. Devotees and tourists from different parts of India come here to take a holy dip.

The kund is surrounded by small temples and green hills, which make the area peaceful and beautiful. There are separate bathing areas for men and women. The water is always flowing, so it stays fresh and clean. The place is mostly well-maintained, though sometimes it gets crowded during festivals and weekends.

Nearby, you can also visit places like Saptadhara, Veerayatan Museum, Venu Van, and Griddhakuta Hill, which are all part of Rajgir’s spiritual and natural charm.

In short, Brahma Kund is a wonderful place where nature, religion, and healing come together. If you are visiting Rajgir, you must take out time to visit this holy hot water spring. It is a peaceful and refreshing experience for the...

Brahma Kund is a holy pond situated in Rajgir, a small town in the Indian state of Bihar. The pond is believed to have spiritual and medicinal powers, and is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists alike. The word "Kund" in Hindi means a pond, and "Brahma" is one of the three major deities in Hinduism.

According to Hindu History, Lord Brahma performed a yajna (fire sacrifice) at this spot, which created the pond. It is said that the water of the pond has the power to cure various diseases, and hence, it attracts a large number of devotees who come to take a dip in the holy waters.

In addition to its religious significance, Brahma Kund is also an important historical site. It is believed that Lord Buddha visited Rajgir several times and meditated at the nearby Vulture Peak. The pond is said to have been used by Buddha's disciple, Ananda, to bathe before meeting him.

The pond is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The local authorities have developed the area around the pond, with facilities such as changing rooms and toilets for visitors. The Brahma Kund is also illuminated in the evenings, making it a beautiful sight to behold.

Brahma Kund is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the rich cultural and religious heritage of India. It is a place that offers a unique blend of spirituality, history, and...

Brahma Kund is a hot water spring in Rajgir. As it is natural hot water, it contains sulfur which has medicinal properties. It has become a holy place and there are many temples around this kunda.Thousands of devotees visit this place and bathe in this holy kunda It is a must visit place for everyone visiting Rajgir. The warm water here will give you a completely different feeling and you will enjoy it a lot. Here you will find several other kundas but this is the main one. You can't use shop, shampoo in main kund for bathing. However separate kundas are available for bathing with shampoo and soap. Before seven in the morning or after seven in the evening is a good time to visit the temple as it is very crowded at other times. There is no separate bathing area for women. Boys and girls are all bathing in one place. There is no changing rooms for women here. Men and women are changing their clothes publicly . The administration should take initiative in this regard.

When you have visited many places in India and have not visited your own state and many travelers visit here again and again, then one day suddenly you pack your bag for this place. The ancient city, Rajgir was once the capital of the powerful Magadha Empire. During the Mahabharata period,Rajgir was called Tapada. Even today, there are many hot nature springs coming out of the mountains in the lower part of Vibhar mountain in Rajgir. The hottest among these springs is #brahmakund whose water remains hot up to 45 degrees Celsius. The first Guru,Guru Nanak Dev, came to Rajgir in 1506 AD during his long journey in Vikram Samvat. It is said that while going from Rajauli to Bhagalpur, Guru ji stopped here in Rajgir for discussion with Buddhist and Jain saints. And here I took bath in this pond. #rajgir #bihartourism #blissfulbihar #dekhoapnadesh #disvoverindia #photography #nikon #hotspring #biharhills #nalanda #rajgir #ancientcity #mauryanempire #magadhkingdom #ashoka
