The Whispering Hills of Yercaud
In the heart of Tamil Nadu, nestled among the Shevaroy Hills, lies the serene hill station of Yercaud. Known for its misty mornings and lush landscapes, Yercaud is a haven for those seeking peace and adventure.
One sunny morning, Aditi, a young artist from Chennai, decided to escape the city's hustle and bustle and find inspiration in the hills. She packed her sketchbook, paints, and a camera, ready to capture the essence of Yercaud.
As she drove up the winding roads, the first hairpin bend greeted her with a breathtaking view. The thrill of the journey filled her with excitement. She stopped at Hairpin Bend-1, where the road curved sharply, offering a panoramic view of the valley below. Aditi took a deep breath, feeling the cool breeze on her face, and snapped a few pictures.
Continuing her journey, she reached Gents Seat View Point. The view was nothing short of spectacular. The hills stretched out before her, covered in a blanket of green, with the sky meeting the earth in a perfect embrace. Aditi sat down, opened her sketchbook, and began to draw. The tranquility of the place seeped into her soul, and her hand moved effortlessly, capturing the beauty around her.
As the day turned to dusk, Aditi made her way to Yercaud Lake. The water shimmered in the fading light, reflecting the colors of the sunset. She rented a small boat and paddled out to the center of the lake. The silence was profound, broken only by the gentle lapping of the water against the boat. Aditi felt a sense of calm she hadn't experienced in a long time.
That night, she stayed at a cozy cottage surrounded by coffee plantations. The aroma of fresh coffee filled the air, and the sound of crickets serenaded her to sleep. Aditi dreamed of misty mornings and endless trails, of waterfalls and hidden paths.
The next morning, she woke up early and hiked to the Shevaroy Temple. The path was lined with tall trees, their leaves whispering secrets to the wind. At the temple, she offered her prayers and sat quietly, absorbing the serenity of the place.
Aditi's trip to Yercaud was more than just an escape; it was a journey of self-discovery. The hills had whispered their ancient tales to her, and she had listened. She returned to Chennai with a heart full of memories and a sketchbook filled with the...

The gents seat is located slightly higher in altitude than the ladies seat on top of a small cliff. One needs to pay a sum of 30 rs to get there. The gents seat welcomes us with a beautiful garden up front which as been recently established by the forest authorities of government of Tamil nadu. One can take memorable pictures in the garden. As the road climbs we get a splendid view of the gents seat. Believe me it's worth the visit. There's not so much of a crowd as one needs to pay money to get here so it's pretty neat, unlike the ladies seat where there is garbage and plastics and food stuffs thrown everywhere by the tourists and the local salespeople. There is a flight of stairs which takes you to the gents seat. One can also take their vehicle till the top of the cliff. The roads circle the small cliff and it's really well maintained. The gents seat gives our eyes the beautiful landscapes and the...
Β Β Β Read moreThere is only view downside that you can see and enjoy. Plus wind is so nice to make you feel good. Other than this there is nothing else. You go up and high and see just a view of the town plus greenery around the forest. This should not be your destination for your trip. Just have different destination and visit this place Only if you get time to see anything additional. There is a rose garden also that also is ok ok. But both of them should not be your destinations.
One restaurant is there for food that you can enjoy. And besides that some street level snacks and chaats are there.
I am giving three stars only for the view that I enjoyed. Plus i had my friends with me and we enjoyed our Pagal Pan. Otherwise my starts would have been less for this place.
Anyways, it your own choice I just shared my experience.
Have a great...
