Sky Rocca buffet restaurant at GRT Yercaud initially impressed us with its inviting atmosphere and exceptionally friendly staff. The ambiance, with its stunning hill view, is truly marvelous and a delight for the eyes—definitely the cherry on top of the experience.
Our group visited for the lunch buffet, and we were welcomed warmly, which set a positive tone.
However, as the meal progressed, we encountered several disappointments. Despite the booking mentioning over 50 items in the buffet, the variety was surprisingly minimal. The main course and starters were limited, with only a fraction of the promised selection available. Not to miss, Biryani real good and also the fish 65 was outstanding. The dessert offerings were particularly underwhelming, consisting of just one dish and an ice cream option.
A notable incident occurred when a waiter graciously took our order for additional starters. Unfortunately, the F&B manager quickly intervened, informing us that only one option each for vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters was available. This abrupt and miserly approach contrasted sharply with the earlier hospitality, leaving a negative impression.
Additionally, basic amenities like napkins were missing from the table, which I found quite surprising and unacceptable for a restaurant of this standing. This lack of attention to detail added to the overall sense that the buffet offerings and service could use significant improvement.
While I have had positive experiences at other GRT properties, which generally offer better hospitality and a wider range of food options, Sky Rocca fell short in several areas. With some improvements, particularly in variety and service, it has the potential to provide a more satisfying dining experience.
I hope Vikram sir's team will take care of...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience at this restaurant. We went for lunch on Sunday where buffet was available, food wasn’t that great! Most importantly, they don’t follow COVID protocols. Sanitizers are kept at the entrance to give the guest the impression of COVID preventive measures being implemented. Guests are not required to wear masks in the buffet area where social distancing is impossible. Their seating arrangements are not properly done; guests sit close to each other even when tables further away are empty. When we addressed the issue, no action was taken by the staff, including the manager. We had started our meal when a new family arrived and sat approximately 50cm from our table. We had expressed our concerns to the family who didn’t agree with following physical distance measures; they told us to move, even though we had started eating our meal. The manager could only agree to both parties but didn’t seem to know the appropriate action to take. It’s not about taking sides, just adhere to public health measures. By failing to follow rules, you have put your...
Read moreI went to Sky Rocca for lunch one afternoon during my stay at Yercaud. I went there thinking I'll get some good food but it was pathetic. You're best bet here is indian food (don't even bother looking at the 'Chinese' and 'Italian') and even that is only edible at best. I made the mistake of ordering Chinese, I would have been better off eating noodles at a roadside staff. We also then ordered 'Ambur Biriyani', it was bland and not worth calling 'Pulav' let alone Biriyani. My cook back home makes better biriyani. Even service was horrible, they brought us the food but didn't bring us any cutlery to eat with till we asked someone. The only good thing about this place is the valley view from the restaurant, so unless you want to pay an exhorbitant amount for the view I suggest you don't visit this place. Even though Yercaud has few options for eateries it's still not...
