SCAM ALERT !!
DO NOT BUY TEA / OIL FROM THE HIFIELD SHOP.
We were approached by a gentleman who was wearing a HIFIELD I'd card and offered to give a free tour of chocolate making, eucalyptus oil processing unit and tea factory.
We tasted the chocolate in the chocolate shop which is just above the main shop. The chocolates were really good (especially the mango chocolates).
Then we visited eucalyptus oil unit where were given 100% pure oil to check and experience how it feels when we put it on our arms, forehead, and nose. I was blown away. Within 2-3 min I could feel it's effect on me. I felt very fresh and my tiredness just vanished.
Finally we visited the tea factory where we saw how different kinds of tea are made.
The overall experience of the tour was very good. But here comes the other part of the story. We visited the main shop where we tasted different flavoured tea (which was really good) and decided to buy oil, chocolate and masala tea. Before buying the guide demonstrated a small act by putting oil on a cloth and setting it on fire. (The oil was poured from a bottle which was already opened). Again we could inhale the fumes which were very refreshing.
Finally I was convinced and bought the stuff. Unfortunately after coming home when I checked none of the products were of the same quality which were shown to us during the tour. Especially the eucalyptus oil. It was very disappointing to realise that we...
Read moreWe visited with family on 18th Oct 24.Its a trap to tempt you to buy things which are different when offered for taste from the ones they give in their fancy packing ! The factory dint seem functional, when asked Mr Mohammad Asgar Ali who is a great Salesman told us factory only operates from morning 7am to 2pm...i appreciate good sales , but this is conning people and misusing someones trust by giving something so vastly different from whats offered to try...authorities should shut this place before more people waste their money at this place... wish we had read reviews before coming here and buying so much...when we called Mr Ali to complain , he said he is only doing as told by owners... who is this owner ? Pls come in front and accept that you are running a setup to loot people of their money in such a lovely hill station where people come for a break and as remberance they want to carry specialities for their loved ones who could not join to make them feel special... they r selling stuff at premium products prices with their own price labels and not even offering any discount even for purchases exceeding Rs 12000/- stay away from visiting...surely the tea they r selling at 500 rs a kg is not costing them more than Rs 200 per...
Read moreDear Ooty and coonoor visitors, please read the lowest reviews of any hotel, home stay, restaurant, tea factory, chocolate outlet etc before making decision to stay or purchase. This will really help your experience.
We went there after reading reviews that it's a free factory visit. once you enter the premises you will see "cherry berry" fine dine restaurant/supermarket and then you realise the so called "High field tea factory" is a fake demo setup to make tourists purchase items like low quality tea, chocolate, soap, eucalyptus and other oils all at inflated prices.
Once I entered the tea factory did I realise that there is hardly any worker present and just some few machines doing some "tea production". This is a intelligent setup done by this "high field" company to lure and scam well educated tourists from Bengaluru.
All tea sold here is inferior quality. Eucalyptus oil demo is with real oil but sold in bottle is adulterated.
Chocolate is the same like you find in Ooty coonoor streets.
Don't fall for the so called guide who will approach you for tea factory visit.
And you have to buy INR 30 TICKET FOR so called tea factory visit.
Just full of scamsters in Ooty and coonoor. This is elite way of scamming with...
