This was our time to see Lord Murugan at Thiruchendur, did that happened happily?
Read my story....
It was one fine Sunday during December month. We drive thru 🚗 that was a very long drive. Finally at 12:30 pm we reached the temple. There were a traffic cop who was very friendly and helped us to park our vehicle easily. That was the last car parking near temple, since more crowd no cars were allowed to park in the temple campus, except VIPs.
After parking, we took auto to temple. We are totally 6 people including 1 old lady and a 1.8 months baby. My brother in law straightly went to the office management (which is next to annadhanam area) to get a wheel chair for grandma. 1 person can accompany an elderly person, so they both went. Myself and other two with the baby went in ₹100/- ticket line. There is free dharshan line also which may take around 3 hrs to see the god. Ours took 1 hr 25 minutes to see the god. Standing the line was not hard while the goal is to see the glory. We are happily moving and the line was also somewhat faster. While moving in line, you have lone vendors who sell flowers, archanai bags, plastic fans (visiri), sundal, etc., to keep you relaxed. Trust me without the plastic fan 🪭 you will suffer in line. Definitely to buy if you have baby 🍼 with you. It is a life saver.
IMPORTANT THING is mens should remove their Shirts 👕 & Baniyans 🎽 before entering the god premises. Be prepared for this, coz it is compulsory.
In the boring line, we all had some great companion who sang lord Murugan songs and we accompanied him with "Arogara, Arogara" 🥰
Finally we reached the karuvoolam and we had this discomfort, where some inside poojaries approaching you and asking if you want any poojais to be done and that's for money. I felt this as a huge discomfort. While going to see the lord there was a huge fight among people where no one ever moved and gave the next person the opportunity to see the lord. All babies started crying there including mine. This part was a huge disappointment. The main purpose of our visit was not a satisfactory one at the last moment coz of "no proper management" of crowd inside the karuvoolam.
After all these sufferings, we finally saw Lord Murugan and came out after 1+ hrs. Meanwhile my in-law and grandma who went in wheelchair came out in 5 minutes after seeing the god.
Another irritating issue is, beggars everywhere. Even though, we ask them to go, they never move until you share some penny. They don't look like beggars also.
And there is NO Gpay or any other UPI payments accepted in the ₹100/- queue. So keep some hundreds in your pocket for tickets.
As I said earlier, Annadhanam is only for elderly people and person with disabilities. They're giving a token for them to dine and long queue stands for it. The food was served hot on banana leaf.
Forgot to say about her, name is Deivanai (I think) 🐘 She was locked in a room since her recent activity. She was so cute and paavam ☹️ We missed her outside. We saw a peacock 🦚 towards going to the beach.
There were many shops near the beach area. Toys, god miniature statues, photos, prasadham, etc., you can buy at this place.
Beach is very near to the temple. I wish, I had a drone view at the temple with my eyes from the mid of the sea (like they show in news channels during Soora Samharam).
We have more parking place here, where we saw more buses, cars are parked everywhere towards temple. Restrooms available throught the way and in temple also. Autos, bus stand, railways station are mostly nearby to the temple. Hotels and lodges are also available within the area.
If you wish to see the god peacefully, visit during off season with limited crowd.
Plan your visit earlier in the morning and come out when crowd enters. This is...
