This tower is located in the Thanjavur Maratha palace complex. It is actually part of the palace. The structure is 7 floors high and resembles the temple gopuram. The Vijayanagar fort is not maintained and it's closed and staff is unaware of this when we asked them.Certain places are not well maintained and some are under construction. Needs improvement. Art gallery and Palace museum is okay. Sangeetha Palace is not allowed to enter and on top of that building...
