Excellent religious place and an ancient and a popular hotspot and temple for Uttar Pradesh tourism. There are various types of parikarmas including Brij Chaurasi Kos Parikrama (252 km) and Govardhan Parikarma (21 km). The Govardhan Parikarma is just amazing and 21 km long in total. It is divided in two parts, Badi Parikarma is 11 km long and Choti Parikarma is 10 km long. The devotees can complete the parikarma by foot or E-Rickshaw. One other type is Dandavat Parikarma which is also of various types. The parikarma is done by the devotees of all ages. The devotees have to be really devotional during each parikarma. There are a lot of vendors all through the path of the parikarma offering flowers, sweets, snacks, fruits and dresses, makeup and related accessories of Lord Laddu Gopalji. A lot of restaurants, dhabas, ashrams, government restrooms and hospice are also there. 🙏🏻भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का साक्षात स्वरूप है गिरिराज गोवर्धन🙏🏻

कलियुग में गोवर्धन पर्वत, जिन्हें गिरिराज भी कहा जाता है, की परिक्रमा बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण मानी गई है। गिरिराज गोवर्धन की परिक्रमा श्रद्धालुओं के सभी मनोरथों को पूर्ण करने वाली होती है। गोवर्धन पर्वत को योगेश्वर भगवान कृष्ण का साक्षात स्वरूप माना गया है।

गिरिराज गोवर्धन को प्रत्यक्ष देव की मान्यता प्राप्त है। इन्हीं गोवर्धन पर्वत को द्वापर युग में भगवान कृष्ण द्वारा इन्द्र का मद चूर करने के लिए एवं ब्रजवासियों को इन्द्र के कोप से बचाने के लिए 7 दिनों तक अपने वाम हाथ की कनिष्ठा अंगुली के नख पर धारण किया गया था। कलियुग में गिरिराज गोवर्धन को भगवान कृष्ण का ही साक्षात स्वरूप मानकर उनकी परिक्रमा की जाती है। गिरिराज गोवर्धन की यह परिक्रमा अनंत फलदायी व पुण्यप्रद होती है।

गिरिराज गोवर्धन उत्तरप्रदेश के मथुरा जिले से लगभग 22 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है। गिरिराज गोवर्धन पर्वत 21 किमी के परिक्षेत्र में फैला हुआ है। गिरिराज पर्वत की परिक्रमा 7 कोस अर्थात 21 किमी की होती है।

तीन हैं मुखारविंद-गिरिराज गोवर्धन की परिक्रमा वैसे तो कहीं से भी प्रारंभ की जा सकती है किंतु मान्यता अनुसार गिरिराज गोवर्धन की परिक्रमा प्रारंभ करने हेतु 3 मुखारविंद हैं। ये 3 मुखारविंद हैं-

गोवर्धन दानघाटी, 2. जतीपुरा, 3. मानसी- गंगा।

इन 3 मुखारविंदों में से किसी एक मुखारविंद से परिक्रमा प्रारंभ कर परिक्रमा पूर्ण करने पर वापस उसी मुखारविंद पर पहुंचना होता है। किंतु सभी वैष्णव भक्तजन 'जतीपुरा-मुखारविंद' से ही अपनी परिक्रमा का प्रारंभ करते हैं, शेष सभी भक्त गोवर्धन दानघाटी व 'मानसी-गंगा' मुखारविंद से अपनी परिक्रमा प्रारंभ करते हैं। 'जतीपुरा-मुखारविंद' को श्रीनाथजी के विग्रह की मान्यता प्राप्त है।

गिरिराज गोवर्धन परिक्रमा में मार्ग में अनेक मठ, मंदिर, गांव व पवित्र कुंड इत्यादि आते हैं, जैसे आन्यौर, राधाकुंड, कुसुम सरोवर, गोवर्धन दानघाटी, जतीपुरा, मानसी-गंगा, गौड़ीय मठ एवं 'पूंछरी का लौठा' आदि। वैसे तो गिरिराज परिक्रमा वर्षभर अनवरत चलती रहती है किंतु विशेष पर्व जैसे पूर्णिमा, अधिकमास, कार्तिक मास, श्रावण मास में गोवर्धन परिक्रमा करने वाले श्रद्धालुओं की संख्या में आशातीत वृद्धि हो जाती है।

दंडवति परिक्रमा- सामान्यत: गिरिराज गोवर्धन की परिक्रमा पैदल की जाती है किंतु कुछ श्रद्धालु इसे दंडवत करते हुए भी करते हैं जिसे 'दंडौति परिक्रमा' कहा जाता है। वृद्धजनों व बच्चों के लिए यहां रिक्शे आदि से परिक्रमा करने की भी व्यवस्था है।

शापित भी हैं गिरिराजजी- एक प्राचीन कथा के अनुसार गिरिराज गोवर्धन शापित हैं। गोवर्धन पर्वत को कलियुग में प्रतिदिन तिल-तिल घटने का श्राप मिला हुआ है। इसे विडंबना ही कहेंगे कि आज यह श्राप इस क्षेत्र के अतिक्रमणकारियों के कारण पूर्णरूपेण चरितार्थ हो रहा है।

'पूंछरी के लौठा' देते हैं साक्षी- गिरिराज गोवर्धन की परिक्रमा मार्ग में 'पूंछरी का लौठा' नामक स्थान आता है, जो राजस्थान में पड़ता है। यहां पहलवान को 'लौठा' कहा जाता है। यहां मंदिर में श्री हनुमानजी का विग्रह स्थापित है। प्राचीन कथा के अनुसार जब भगवान कृष्ण गोवर्धन पर्वत के इस क्षेत्र में गोचारण के लिए आते थे तब श्री हनुमानजी उनके साथ खेला करते थे। दोनों साथ-साथ भोजन व बातें किया करते थे। किंतु जब भगवान कृष्ण की लीला पूर्ण होकर उनके बैकुंठ गमन का समय आया तो हनुमानजी उदास हो गए और उनके विरह में दु:खी होकर कहने लगे कि आप तो अपने धाम जा रहे हो लेकिन मैं अकेला हो जाऊंगा, क्योंकि हनुमानजी अमर हैं।

हनुमानजी की इस बात पर भगवान कृष्ण ने उन्हें आश्वस्त किया कि कलियुग में गिरिराज गोवर्धन को मेरा साक्षात स्वरूप मानकर इसकी परिक्रमा की जाएगी और यह परिक्रमा तभी पूर्ण मानी जाएगी, जब आप स्वयं इसकी साक्षी देंगे। आपके दर्शनों के बिना गोवर्धन परिक्रमा पूर्ण नहीं मानी जाएगी, इससे आपके पास सदैव भक्तों की चहल-पहल रहा करेगी।

इसी मान्यता के अनुसार गिरिराज गोवर्धन की परिक्रमा करते समय प्रत्येक श्रद्धालु व भक्त यहां दर्शन कर अपनी साक्षी दिलाने आते हैं। 'पूंछरी के लौठा' अर्थात हनुमानजी के दर्शन व साक्षी के उपरांत प्रारंभ वाले मुखारविंद पर पहुंचकर परिक्रमा की समाप्ति की जाती है। प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपने जीवनकाल में वर्ष में एक बार गिरिराज गोवर्धन की परिक्रमा...

jai Giriraj.. very close to Mathura... about 20km.. very famous for doing parikarma..which is in 2 parts 7 km and then 14 km...total 21 km..There is mukharbind temple of giriraj from where yu have to strat..in this temple yu offer your prayers with abeshiak of milk with perfumes cloth and sweets..Parikarma takes about 4to 6 hours depending on your capacity to walk.. refer to do my night..the route is very well built and even during the night yu will see kirtan done by the villagers as yu pass them.choice is your to do full or half parikarma.. its bare footed and verty convienent with blessings of Girraji.. even rickshaws are availabe to do in case yu cannot walk.where there is will there is way to do.Famous halwai..brijwasi where yu get puri..lassi and many things to eat.. yu can locate opposite police station main road and lot of crowd..prefer to do in sept october midnight..be the blessings to all of Girirajji.g8 choice of hotels in goverdhan dham or stay in vrindavan mathura as per your choice..If yu have time dont miss to visit barsana..nandgaon.. shani temple kosi...avoid week ends...
