Zaika — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

My expectation on entering the place was quite high but I was left a bit dissatisfied. The mural on the wall showcased that the restaurant had branches in some of the other big countries in US and UK. That obviously kept my expectations high. Unfortunately the experience turned out to be average. I was there for a lunch with family and relatives (12+ guests). We ordered soups, butter rotis, naan, Missi rotis, veg pulao, kadhai paneer, daal makhani mixed veg, raita etc. I asked for plain tomato soup( without pepper) for my kid but they said that the soup was already prepared in bulk and there was no way they could provide one without pepper. This was a bit disappointing. The sweet corn soup I was recommended by the restaurant staff again turned out to be too spicy for my kid. The food was too spicy and just fine. The ambience was ok but we had to prod the staff to turn on the air conditioning after the power tripped. One of the chairs that my relative was sitting on gave way and luckily he was not hurt. May be it was not the right day and my review is based on my first hand experience on that...

I ordered a combo of burger, fries and cold drink/mocktail through zomato. The fries that they sent are the worst fries I have ever eaten, half of the fries were filled with oil, which usually happens when you fry them again after 2-3 hours, and some of the fries were hollow and they were very hard to chew (they must be stale) . I don't know what kind of potatoes these people are using. This one star rating is being given just because we can't review without it. Burger was filled with mayonnaise and taste was normal. And I guess they never deliver mocktails in this combo as it is easy to keep a 250ml pepsi and so easy is to disappoint people. A great surprise discovery in the middle of nowhere in Mathura, a godsend because all the eateries near the expected crowded places are dirty, unhygienic and swarming with flies.

So, a place to eat in peace not bothered by the crowds in the temple surroundings or in the market is a pleasure to discover but the best is yet to come.

The food is fresh, wholesome and tasty and the price is comparable to the budget restaurants in Delhi. So, you enjoy your food, eat to your satisfaction and the bill does not pinch you hard, is that a dream , no it's real here in...
