First of all my prayers to Lord Krishna in his lotus feet. I am not capable to write any reviews related to him because of my limited intelligence. I am just making an attempt to share some information about this sacred place. Garud Govind Dev ji temple is very sacred and extremely unique because of one reason which many would not know. Yes the unique thing about this temple is the diety of Lord himself. Every one knows about Chaturbhuj or four arm form of Krishna or Lord Vishnu but this diety has 12 arms which is extremely rare. The 12 arms are displayed only during Akshaya Tritiya. Second thing is that the diety of Lord is sitting on Garuda Dev hence this temple is known as Garuda Govind Dev ji temple. Just behind the temple is a sacred pond where the diety of Lord was found and installed in the temple. Let me share the story of it. Once Krishna as a small boy was playing with Gopas and Krishna in playful mood sat on his friend Sreedama like a child sits on horse and plays tik tik Ghoda.. At that time itself Krishna took the form of Narayan with 12 arms and Sreedama became the carrier of Lord as Garuda Dev. It is just too sweet to behold the Lord in this form. One can have darshan of charan or feet of Lord on request to the Pujari. This temple can be reached from chatikara Road or sunrakh Road. Best is to take a batter operated rickshaw or drive down from Hare Krishna Orchid. It is approximately 6 kms away from Hare Krishna orchid resort in Vrindavan. The roads are under construction but within a month it will be all fine. The roads crosses the field hence very deserted so it is a good idea to reach there early and return early. There are hardly any shops near by and one can get the real feel of a village and Vrindavan. There is also a beautiful diety of Garuda ji near the entrance and the sacred pond just behind the temple. Hope you would have found this information useful. Please like and encourage if you found this information useful. Jai...

"Kṛṣṇa performed various pastimes at this place, which lies near Śakaṭīkarā. One day while grazing the cows, Śrī Kṛṣṇa was absorbed in playing here with the sakhās. In their play, Kṛṣṇa made Śrīdāma Sakhā assume the role of Garuḍa and then He climbed on his back, acting as if the husband of Lakṣmī, Nārāyaṇa Himself, had mounted Garuḍa’s back. Even today, one can take darśana of Govindajī with Śrīdāma in the role of Garuḍa. This location is also connected with Lord Rāma’s pastimes. When the serpents released by Meghanātha bound Śrī Rāmacandra in their coils, He became helpless. Hearing of this from Devaṛṣi Nārada, Garuḍa came to the rescue. As soon as the serpents saw Garuḍa, they released Śrī Rāmacandra and fled. This incident left Garuḍa doubtful as to whether Śrī Rāma was in fact Bhagavān, the Supreme Lord, but by associating with Mahātmā Kakabhuṣuṇḍī and by receiving darśana of Śrī Kṛṣṇa at the time of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes, this delusion was removed. At that time, Śrī Kṛṣṇa climbed upon his back and assured him that He was indeed the Supreme Lord. Garuḍa-Govinda is the place where Garuḍa had darśana of Śrī Govinda, the maintainer of the cows and cowherd boys." Happy Akshaya Tritya from Chhatikara, Shri Garuda Govinda ji mandir. Today in the most auspicious day His merciful darshan. This temple situated in place of Krishna lila. Right here was temporary camp of Nanda Maharaja (their living place after Gokula). Krishna enjoyed here with friends and played in 12 armed Vishnu Govinda, and Shridam Sakha played Garuda (he’s Garuda in Vaikunth lila). Also this is the place of Gautam Rishi ashram (and his descendants still serving here). “This location is also connected with Lord Rāma's pastimes. When the serpents released by Meghanātha bound Śri Rāmacandra in their coils, He became helpless. Hearing of this from Devarsi Nārada, Garuda came to the rescue. As soon as the serpents saw Garuda, they released Śri Rāmacandra and fled. This incident left Garuda doubtful as to whether Sri Rāma was in fact Bhagavān, the Supreme Lord, but by associating with Mahātmā Kakabhusundi and by receiving darśana of Śrī Krsna at the time of Krsna's pastimes, this delusion was removed. At that time, Sri Krsna climbed upon his back and assured him that He was indeed the Supreme Lord. Garuda-Govinda is the place where Garuda had darśana of Śri Govinda, the maintainer of the cows and cowherd boys”. (Vraja Mandala by Narayana Maharaj)
