Fantastic museum, unmissable if you are passing through Bhimtal - and probably the only thing worth seeing in Bhimtal (excluding nature). Sure, a professional curator can spruce things up, add more notes/labels/context, but as a testament to the effort of a single man, it is wonderful to experience! Not difficult to find, but the main gate is usually/can be closed. Give them a ring beforehand if possible, they are quite welcoming. Just go!
Note to the Museum: allow photography in the museum, that's the best global practice that encourages more visitors, not less....

Dr. Yashodhar Mathpal and his son Dr. Suresh Mathpal are running this museum for last 40 years with their own personal efforts. They have tried to collect the articles from every nook and corner of Uttarakhand.
Really surprised to see things that are 15 crore years old. Handmade paintings of Dr. Yashodar Mathpal are marvelous. Behaviour of Naveen Bhatt Ji is also very good.
