The Marine Aquarium and Regional Centre offers a fascinating and educational experience for visitors of all ages, showcasing a diverse array of marine life and preserved specimens.

Entry and Restrictions: No Tickets Required: One of the most appealing aspects is that there are no tickets required for visiting, making it an accessible and budget-friendly attraction. Photography and Videography: It's important to note that photography and videography are not allowed inside the facility. While this might be disappointing for some, it ensures that the exhibits are preserved and undisturbed.

Exhibits: Marine Life: The aquarium houses a variety of marine species, including different types of fish, crabs, and lobsters. This diverse collection offers a close-up view of aquatic life that many may not have encountered before. Corals: A huge collection of corals is also on display, showcasing the intricate beauty and biodiversity of coral reefs. Preserved Specimens: In addition to live exhibits, the aquarium features preserved specimens such as snakes and living fossils, providing a unique educational insight into marine biology and evolutionary history. Whale Skeleton: At the entrance, a skeleton of a whale captures immediate attention and sets the tone for the impressive exhibits inside.

Facilities: Air Conditioning: One drawback is the lack of air conditioning. During the summer months, it can get quite hot inside, which might make it uncomfortable to spend a long time exploring the exhibits. It's advisable to visit during cooler parts of the day if possible.

Overall Experience: Despite the absence of air conditioning, the Marine Aquarium and Regional Centre offers a captivating and educational experience. The free entry, diverse marine life, extensive coral collection, and unique preserved specimens make it a worthwhile visit. The impressive whale skeleton at the gate is an added attraction that enhances the overall appeal.

In conclusion, the Marine Aquarium and Regional Centre is a treasure trove of marine wonders, perfect for those interested in the natural world. Just be prepared for the warm temperatures during the summer, and enjoy the rich array of exhibits this center...

I had visited the place with a great hope. As an Aquarium hobbiest I had gone to place specially to learn and view something about marine world. Contrary, this is very bad in shape place. Management needs to look the pitty condition of tank.

The entry is free. But, a free entry doesn't mean I should appreciate all bad and pathetic situation. May be some folks are just happy to go in side as it was Free. But even Aquarium shops allows to look the aquarium at free of cost.

No one can get even a tiny visualization of marine world here. Some here and there low category fishes are available. No marine world but just fishes. Better if you have to see fishes only prefer to go Galliff Street.

All the tanks are dirty and with almost zero maintenance. The corals are dead. It looks like initially this place was built with live rocks and corals but due to poor service or dull service everything is dead. You will not get a glimpse of marine world. Just here and there some hard fish are available as they can survive even after such a pathetic maintenance.

In fact, any Aquarium shop you can visit and get better understanding and knowledge about marine aquarium.

Whosoever is maintaining this place, they should close this dumb place and release all the fishes in open sea. Do not torture them . Very disappointed.

A laughable situation. Just avoid this to spoil your mood if you have even minor understanding of aquarium.

Those who are coming from alien word can enjoy here with Free entry. They are not happy due to the place but they have not gave a penny. The place is worth...

I recently had the chance to visit the Marine Aquarium and Regional Centre (MARC) in Old Digha, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The location is very convenient—it’s just near Jagannath Dham, making it an easy stop if you’re exploring the area. The aquarium is free to enter, which is a great plus for visitors and families. The environment is clean, and the staff maintains the place quite well. I really liked the setup, and the information provided about marine life was interesting. However, one thing that stood out to me was that many of the display tanks were empty, which was a bit disappointing. It felt like the place had a lot of potential but wasn’t being fully utilized. A few more active exhibits or marine species would definitely make the experience more engaging. That said, it’s still a nice and peaceful spot to visit, especially if you’re interested in aquatic life or just looking for a quick, relaxing stop while in Digha. With a bit more attention and maintenance, it could become one of the more attractive places in the area.
