Guindy Children's Nature Park — Attraction in Zone 13 Adyar

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting a Guindy Children's Park that left me feeling incredibly disappointed. The park, which I had heard wonderful things about in the past, has fallen into a state of disrepair and neglect. I feel compelled to share my experience with others to prevent them from wasting their time and expectations on this poorly maintained facility.

Upon entering the park, it was evident that maintenance was sorely lacking. The pathways were cracked and overgrown with weeds, making navigation difficult and potentially hazardous for children. The once-vibrant flower beds had withered away, leaving behind a sad and desolate atmosphere.

As I ventured further into the park, it became painfully clear that there was very little to see or enjoy. The park boasted a few animals such as peacocks, deer, parrots, monkeys, and ostriches, but even they seemed to be affected by the general state of neglect. Their enclosures were unkempt, and some of the animals appeared malnourished and unhappy. It was disheartening to witness such a lack of care and attention towards these innocent creatures.

These visuals capture the overgrown vegetation, crumbling infrastructure, and the overall dilapidated state of the once-thriving attraction. It truly saddens me to witness how far this park has fallen from its former glory.

I strongly urge anyone considering a visit to this park to reconsider their plans. There are undoubtedly much better options available for families seeking a fun and enjoyable experience. It pains me to say it, but this children's park is no longer worthy of your time or attention.

I sincerely hope that the authorities responsible for the park's upkeep take immediate action to rectify the situation. Until then, I implore parents, children, and nature enthusiasts alike to seek out alternative destinations that offer a well-maintained and engaging experience.

Birdwatchers can delight in spotting species like the Grey Pelican, Painted Stork, White Ibis, Grey Heron, Spoonbill, Night Heron, Bengal Vulture, Pigeon, Great Horned Owl, and Barn Owl. The park also houses a variety of reptiles, including venomous snakes, crocodiles, and tortoises, safely on display for educational purposes.

The park's reopening has been met with enthusiasm, as it attracts over 9 lakh visitors annually, especially during weekends. The introduction of nine latest technology vehicles for internal use promises an improved visitor experience, allowing for deeper exploration of this urban wilderness.

The park is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (closed on Tuesdays), giving ample time to explore. Accessibility is a breeze, with the Guindy railway station just 1 km away and affordable local transport options like trains and buses.
