A secret zoo in the mountains. The concept is really great and it is really unique. I personally liked the baby zoo because we can interact with the animals and feed them. Some of the goats can also run freely but they're really safe to play with and really cute too.
The service is also good. The workers are kind and helpful.
But I think for a zoo, it's way too small. Some animals have outgrew their cages so they somehow feel a bit uncomfortable. A komodo dragon in an indoor glass cage? I don't think that will work :(
I went there during a weekday so I guess there aren't many workers stationed. Personally, I think for a zoo, at least 3/4 workers should be stationed because the animals need their caretaker. When I came there, their food came a bit late and the animals just looked sleepy and hungry.
Another thing is during weekdays, there's gonna be a lot of group visitors but there aren't many workers to provide them. I travelled personally, but the group visitors need to be controlled. There are visitors knocking on the animals' cages, disturbing their sleep, and calling them lazy. Some visitors also smoked near the cages which I think shouldn't be allowed because it can hurt the animals.
The new feature of safari park has a great concept but I think the car is too open so the animals got too close and scared some of the kids. Maybe consider putting a window or such so we can safely feed them. Oh and also I didn't see any worker controlling the animals from their area so some animals are able to cross to another area.
The amusement park rides were pretty great but some needed maintenance. I hope it is cleaned or...
Read moreDear all,
My name is Yanuar, and I’ve been an animal lover since childhood. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of visiting zoos and animal parks all over the world — but Jawa Timur Park truly took our breath away.
This park is simply world-class. From the incredible variety of animals, the exciting games and rides, to the spotless environment and the warm smiles of every staff member — everything was beyond our expectations. It’s a place that doesn’t just entertain, but also inspires, educates, and leaves lasting memories for the whole family.
What amazed me most is how affordable the experience is, especially compared to similar parks abroad. Jawa Timur Park is a hidden gem — still underrated by international visitors, but truly deserving of global recognition.
We were incredibly honored to meet the founders, Mr. Sastro and Mr. Rio — two passionate, down-to-earth individuals who genuinely care about people and animals alike. Their vision and kindness shine through every corner of the park.
This park made us proud to be Indonesian. It shows the world that we, too, can create something beautiful, meaningful, and unforgettable. Clean, caring, creative — this is exactly the kind of zoo Indonesia needs.
To all overseas travellers: don’t miss this! Combine it with a sunrise trip to Mount Bromo, and spend 3–4 magical days in Batu to fully explore the wonders of Jawa Timur Park. You won’t regret it.
Thank you to the entire Jawa Timur Park team — you are doing something truly special.
With heartfelt...
Read moreWe went here as a part of day 2 of our end of year and farewell retreat. We were kind of disappointed that we were brough to a zoo, at first, but when we got there and actually started exploring the park, we were more than thrilled to be there. The whole kilometer walk was a huge fear for us as most, if not all of us, hate walking that far. But, you won't exactly feel the whole walk as you'll very much be distracted by the cool and cute animals that lie in this very park. They also provide a bunch of stops where you can take pictures with animals for just Rp 5000. Not only do you get a cool souvenir, but you also get to help rid the world of animal extinction (or something along those lines). There is also a mini waterpark very close to the wide food court for the people who just want to swim, because why not? And when I say wide food court, I mean, WIDE food court, like, an I-need-you-to-wait-for-your-food-as-I-probably-won't-be-able-to-deliver-your-food-to-you-because-I-will-most-likely-not-be-able-to-find-your-table kind of wide. With that, we were overwhelmed with the many options of kinds of food that they provided. There are also a lot of theme park ride and carnival game you can play. All in all, this place is a very entertaining place for kids and adults alike. It is very educational, too; teaching kids and reminding ourselves to take care of our planet and be nice to these cute and cuddly animals that we've never...
