Muir Beach — Attraction in Marin City

Campfires are allowed on the beach.

The beach itself is truly beautiful, and the path from the parking lot to the shore is well-maintained with plenty of hiking trails to explore.

There are designated areas for campfires along the beach, making it a great place to enjoy BBQs and delicious food with others by the ocean.

However, because of this, there tends to be some trash left on the ground. While the ability to have a campfire on such a beautiful beach is a great perk, it's a bit disappointing that it also makes the area feel a bit crowded...

The only N. Bay beach I feel safe swimming in. Mild surf, no riptides felt at N. end. Water temp typically 63°f. Brisk, refreshing for up to 30 min immersion, then warm up on the sand for an hour after. Pushed myself to 3, 1/2 hour immersions in 6-10ft depths. Best when temps there are 77°f and no high tide. I've never been to the Ocean or seen a vast large mass of water other than the Mississippi, which has nothing on this! It was such a beautiful, PEACEFUL place to experience. It is truly a magical place! I could have stayed there all day just watching & feeling the waves crash into the shore, crash into me. The vastness of this world's pure beauty & life-force will forever amaze Me no matter how simple it might be. Seeing this Ocean literally brought such joy & peace to my Soul! ¡Hope to...
