Taman Kaca Mayang — Attraction in Pekanbaru

A park that is located right in the street known for its business and government offices and quickly becoming a hangout place for many, the site certainly has been an oasis of some sort. The park is now characterized by a lot of greenery offering some fresh air amidst the city center's traffic in the heart of the city. This place is an open space covering an area that is actually not large enough to contain all visitors especially on public holidays or weekends. There have been some additional facilities added: some features normally found in children's playground and wifi service though the latter is not probably properly taken advantage of. The municipal government even provided some electric sockets for people to charge their mobile toys. Unfortunately, these are not well maintained. Most of them are not working due to vandalism. Perhaps, there should be some kind of security measures planned for future facilities in consideration of vandals. Another issue worth addressing is the lack of organization around the area.
