Handara Gate, also known as the Handara Golf & Resort Bali Gate, is a famous landmark located in Bedugul, Bali, Indonesia. It is a picturesque and iconic entrance gate that has become a popular tourist attraction and a favorite spot for photography.
The Handara Gate is part of the Handara Golf & Resort Bali, a beautiful golf course nestled in the highlands of Bedugul. The gate serves as the entrance to the golf course and resort, offering a stunning view of the lush green fairways and the surrounding natural beauty.
The gate itself is a traditional Balinese-style split gate, also known as "Candi Bentar," characterized by its distinctive architectural design. The gate features intricate carvings and ornate decorations, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Bali.
What makes the Handara Gate so popular is its picturesque setting and the opportunity it provides for capturing stunning photographs. With the lush greenery of the golf course in the background and the traditional Balinese gate as the foreground, the Handara Gate has become an Instagram-worthy location for visitors seeking to capture the beauty and charm of Bali.
Visitors flock to the Handara Gate to take memorable photos and experience the tranquility and serenity of the surrounding landscape. The gate is especially popular during sunrise when the soft morning light casts a magical glow over the scenery, creating a breathtaking sight.
For those who are not golfers, the Handara Gate remains accessible for photography and sightseeing, and the Handara Golf & Resort Bali has designated times when non-golfers can visit the gate without any restrictions.

Read moreHandara Gate is undeniably a beautiful and iconic location that offers a stunning backdrop for photos. The traditional Balinese gate, surrounded by lush greenery and misty mountains, creates a picture-perfect scene that looks magical. It’s no wonder it’s such a popular spot for tourists and photographers alike.
However, while the view is spectacular, there are a few things to keep in mind before visiting. The biggest downside is the long wait time. Since it has become a viral photography spot, we had to wait for over an hour just to take a few pictures. The queue moves slowly because everyone wants their perfect shot, and it can test your patience, especially during peak hours. To avoid this, I would recommend arriving early in the morning when it’s less crowded.
Another issue is the additional fee for photos. While you already pay an entrance fee to access the area, there’s an extra charge of 10,000 IDR just to take photos with your own phone. It feels unnecessary and slightly overpriced for something so basic, but most people still pay for the experience.
Overall, Handara Gate is worth a visit if you’re in the Bedugul area and love scenic spots. Despite the wait and extra charges, the view is undeniably breathtaking and makes for a memorable photo opportunity. Just plan your timing carefully and be prepared for some patience to fully enjoy...
Read moreHandara Iconic Gate is one of the most picturesque spots in Bali, offering a beautiful backdrop of fantastic greenery and misty mountains. Located near the entrance of Handara Golf & Resort, this traditional Balinese split gate is a popular stop for travelers looking to capture a perfect Instagram-worthy shot.
There are so many gates in Bali to take a good picture, and this was a great one with less queues than in other gates. While some famous gates, like Lempuyang’s Heaven Gate, often have long wait times, Handara Gate is relatively quieter, making it easier to take photos without feeling rushed. We probably waited under 10 minutes.
The best time to visit is early in the morning when the light is soft and there are fewer people. The surrounding scenery adds to the beauty, with mist often creating a magical atmosphere. There is a small fee to take photos, but it’s worth it for the unique experience. I think it was 75k per person.
Overall, Handara Iconic Gate is a fantastic spot for photography and a must-visit for those exploring Bali. If you’re looking for a scenic gate with a shorter wait time, this one is a great choice.
