Bira Dive Adventure Office — Attraction in South Sulawesi

The dive buddy/ instructor, Om Dedy, is a cool chill guy. He knows how to make you safe, out in the water. He knows how to read the current. He shares his dive tips with you even if you're just doing fun diving. He was helpful and went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable.

He is a native Selayar and knows the dive spots very well. His dive center might be simple compared to other nearby foreign-owned Dive Center but his knowledge underwater and on the local Pinisi boat history are immense. His eyes are sharp. He took me to two spots in Pulau Kambing for a wall dive. I mind you, Pulau Kambing's current is rough at the surface. And yet, it was the best wall I've seen to date in Indonesia. I saw 12 huge sharks for each dive. The shark size reached up to 2 meters. Immense. We also saw Marble Ray. We saw two different types of Moray eels, nudibranch and so many big fishes. Safety underwater was his best quality. And he knows how to make you feel comfortable.

Bonus, you have to try the coffee at his dive center / coffeeshop! Delicious coffee.
