Warung Bamboo — Restaurant in South Sulawesi

After hours of snorkeling I asked local people where I should eat, and they said that Warung Bambu offers the best seafood, so I went here.

I wasn't sure what kind of fish it was, but it was really good (and I was ravenous). The owner said they caught the fish the day before and they put it in the freezer. When I chose the fish it was frozen like a block of ice, so it took a long time to grill it.

The fish itself wasn't seasoned, so they gave you this sauce made from tomato, lime, and sweet soy sauce. The sauce completed the meal.

Warung Bamboo – sympatischer Szenetreff in Bira

Der Inhaber des Warung Bamboos – Rahman – ist der Mann für alle Fälle in Bira. Was immer ihr braucht – Mopeds mieten, private Transport, Tauchausflüge – ganz egal - Rahman macht es möglich.

Auch in seinem Warum Bamboo könnt ihr neben gutem Essen, immer kaltem! Bier auch vieles mehr bekommen, was möglicherweise fehlt. Von Chips und Keksen über Getränke, BH´s und Feuerzeugen, Souveniers bis zur Unterhose – ihr kriegt (fast) alles.

Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt aber natürlich auf Essen und Getränken. Auf der Speisekarte finden sich die üblichen, indonesischen Gerichte zu fairen Preisen, aber es lohnt sich auch immer mal nach Besonderheiten zu fragen die nicht auf der Karte stehen. Zum Beispiel frischem Fisch.

Besonders sympathisch ist der „Szenetreff“ vor dem Warung. Hier sitzen die Leute zusammen und spielen Schach oder quatschen einfach ein bisschen. Vielleicht taucht auch plötzlich eine Gitarre auf und spontan findet eine kleine Musiksession statt. Neue Leute sind hier schnell kennen gelernt.

Fazit: die Einrichtung ist einfach, aber die Menschen und die Atmosphäre besonders und sympathisch.

Clean, better looking than the rest of the places and warungs. We just tried breakfast and pankakes and they were too sweet but nice. They speak English more than enough. No wifi but you can buy a wifi ticket in the shop in front of it and there is access in this place thanks to that. Have not tried...
