Kawasan Konservasi Mangrove Dan Bekantan — Attraction in Tarakan

One of the tourist attractions that I visited when I went to Tarakan City. this place is not far from Juwana International Airport. Ticket prices are cheap. However, we came during the afternoon when the proboscis monkeys (Bekantan) are more comfortable up in the trees. According to residents, they recommend coming in the morning at mealtime. Because at that time, the probosci's monkeys will descend. The surroundings are overgrown with mangroves because the location is indeed close to the beach. Not only probosci monkeys there, but we also found squirrels, frogs, and fish that are unique in shape (I forgot the name of the fish). This place is also used as a place for pre-wedding because when we visited, someone was doing a photo shoot. The bridge is made of ironwood, quite strong and durable. It's safe to walk away, but you still need to be careful when you step because the edges are overgrown with moss and sometimes there are holes in them. Quite a pleasant and clean place. The place has now implemented a price for foreigners and there appears to be no limit to the proprietor's greediness. While the local price is 5000 rupiah, a foreigner is asked to pay 10 times that. A staggering 50000!

Only a stupid tourist of which there are too many, will accept this kind of blatant discrimination. In effect they're telling you "this is worth 5000, but since you're stupid, you will have to pay 50000".

Was so excited to see the famous icon of dufan in real life. However, since I went in the afternoon, there weren’t really much bekantan on the spot. Apparently they only appear in the morning when they’re being fed. So if you plan to visit them, make sure to do it in the morning time.
