Must admit I had to google Dr. Hasby’s great contribution in the modern science when I arrived at this beautiful house turned into museum in the middle of the northern Tehran. His dedication for the study of science was displayed in every floor of the one wing as museum. I loved going to other wings with steel stairs, forgetting this is situated in the center of the city. Museum is staffed with very dedicated people who kindly explained me history of the Dr. Hassabi. I just had to take a pic oh his pencil collection as I also love using pencils quite until the last centimeters! I also loved the fact the Dr had so many cats ( by the way, cats are well taken care by museum staff generations after! I spend about one hour in this lost in time museum but I suppose 30 minutes may be sufficient. I think entrance fee is 30k. Maybe I am wrong.. but I am glad i visited this amazing historical place !

Dr. Hesabi was a brilliant polymath fluent in Arabic, Persian, English, and French. Beyond his academic genius, he was a talented musician, skillfully playing piano and violin. After earning a Ph.D. in Physics from Sorbonne University in France, he returned to Iran and played a pivotal role in the country's scientific advancement. One of his greatest achievements was founding the Technical and Science faculties at the University of Tehran—a milestone in Iran’s higher education history that paved the way for future growth in science and technology. He also contributed actively to shaping Iran’s scientific policies. If I lived here, I’m sure I’d have achieved something amazing too! This house is extraordinary.

Today’s visit to the Dr. Hesabi Museum was truly inspiring. Walking through the former home of Dr. Mahmoud Hesabi and seeing his personal items—his notebooks, awards, family photos—gave me a powerful sense of the person behind the science. The way the museum preserves not just his scientific legacy, but also his everyday life, makes his achievements feel even more human and accessible. The garden and architecture add such peacefulness, a fitting space to reflect on curiosity, scholarship, and perseverance. Thank you to all the staff for keeping this treasure alive—it’s a beautiful reminder of how one life’s passion for knowledge can leave a lasting impact.
