Amir Chakhmaq square is one of the main squares of the city and various programs and ceremonies are held there. Amir Chakhmaq Square in Yazd dates back to the Timurid era, which was built by Amir Jalaluddin Chakhmaq in the 9th century. Amir Jalaluddin, who was one of the generals of Timurid Shahrukh, made many changes in this city after being appointed as the ruler of Yazd. One of his most important actions is the construction of Jame New Mosque and this historical square. By order of Amir Chakhmaq, other buildings were built around the square, which today are among the most spectacular attractions of Yazd and Amir Chakhmaq Square. During the Safavid era, Amir Chakhmaq square in Yazd underwent changes and a beautiful square was built on the caravanserai. Also, by the order of Shah Abbas Safavi, the buildings and other works of the square were also restored. These renovations were followed during the Qajar period and during the rule of Feth Ali Shah with the expansion of the mosque's courtyard. During the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi, many changes were made in the square and street sweeps were carried out. Over time, other changes were made in Amir Chakhmaq Square of Yazd and its former shape was changed. Relying on Amir Chakhmaq The most prominent building of Amir Chakhmaq Square, which catches the eye of every tourist upon entering this square, is a three-story support. This support was registered in the list of national works of Iran in 1330 AH. This support, which is located in the eastern part of the square, was considered a place for kings to sit in ancient times to watch various ceremonies such as mourning ceremonies and palm picking. The special architecture of this building, with its arched palaces, displays the splendor of Iranian-Islamic architecture. The date of the support of Amirchakhmaq Square in Yazd dates back to the year 1258 AH (1221 AH). This building is made of brick and has two large and high minarets that were added during the Qajar period. The architectural style of Amir Chakhmaq Square in Yazd is such that in the main part of Amir Chakhmaq Takiye, there are stair-shaped pavilions in the form of two-story arches in eight vertical rows. There are also three-story booths in two vertical rows and a main booth in one vertical row in the middle. Read moreمسجد امیر چقماق که در تاریخهای یزد به نام مسجد جامع نو یا مسجد دهوک نیز خوانده شدهاست در دوره تیموری به همت امیرجلالالدین چقماق شامی حاکم یزد از امراء و سرداران و مقرب درگاه شاهرخ و همسرش ستی فاطمه خاتون احداث شدهاست. ساخت این مسجد در سال ۸۴۱ هـ. ق به پایان رسید. مسجد امیرچخماق از حیث زیبایی، وسعت، اهمیت و اعتبار بعد از مسجد جامع یزد قرار دارد. این اثر در تاریخ ۱۵ آذر ۱۳۱۴ با شمارهٔ ثبت ۲۴۷ بهعنوان یکی از آثار ملی ایران به ثبت رسیدهاست.
این مسجد در ضلع جنوبی میدان امیرچخماق قرار دارد و در کریاس (ساختمان جلوی در ورودی) مسجد که به میدان باز میشود، سنگی نصب گردیده که بر آن متن وقفنامهای به خط نسخ نقر شدهاست.
در طرف راهروی شمالی که از در کریاس به صحن وارد میشود، شبکههایی ظریف از کاشیهای معرق در پنجرهها نصب شدهاند. قسمتی از سردر صفحه ایوان کاشیکاری معرق شدهاست و جرزهای آن آجری رنگ میباشد. دور خارجی گنبد و بر کمربند آن عبارت «السلطان ظل الله…» به کوفی بنایی تکرار شدهاست.
محراب صحنه اصلی از کاشی معرق است با ساختمانی مقرنس کاری که در وسط آن سنگ مرمر بسیار خوشتراشی به اندازه ۱/۱۵ * ۳/۳۸ متر نصب شدهاست و در وسط مقرنس کاری یک گل مربع به اندازه ۵۴ * ۹۵ سانتیمتر نصب است و در دست چپ آن، یک سنگ مرمر به اندازه ۲۸ * ۳۰ سانتیمتر نصب شدهاست. سر در شرقی مسجد دارای کتیبههایی از کاشی معرق به خط ثلث...
