Nice new amenity for a long walk and for kids to play and cycle. Quite an exposed site, has been windy there any time I have visited. Was there during working hours and quite a few work vehicles on the pedestrian paths, not sure if these were maintenance or supporting the landfill. The artefacts of the landfill still very evident, the "lakes" up high are there for some purpose (aeration?), And there are lots of manholes for some reason. The outdoor exercise area is one of the best I've seen, it actually seems useful But why oh why was it situated immediately down wind of the still working "amenity" site?...

The park is, much to my dismay, very disappointing. There isn't a flower bed in sight, not to mention any trees. The place needs serious landscaping. It looks like how I imagine the areas surrounding Chernobyl look like - barren & grim.
Parks are supposed to be lively & beautiful. This place is depressing. It has such potential. It's a shame the grounds aren't more like Fitzgerald's Park...
Read moreThis is an interesting and badly needed resource for Cork City. The walk starts at Cork Dump and runs alongside the link road which can make it a little noise polluted unfortunately. The start of the walk incorporates a little municipal fitness area. This is a nice touch. Informative little signs decorate the walkway and provide interesting information on the wildlife and vegetation. Thankfully there aren't too many bicycles on the walk and children can run freely. The only complaint I would have is I wish people would clean up...
