I love Bundoran Beach, when it's sunny there is no where else I would want to be. The beach is sandy and you have the waves from the Atlantic ocean It retains blue flag status and uses lifeguards during the summer season. The council must have spent some money on recent improvements, I noticed a lot of stones and rocks were lifted making the beach more accessible but that's about it. If Bundoran wants to call itself a major joliday destination then more money needs to be spent on some modernising of the beach. There is a ramp down to the beach, but lots of beaches now have special surfaces to allow prams and wheelchairs to be brought on to the beach. Parking is great, there is ample parking but just one blue badge spot in the beach car park, its just ridiculous. The toilet situation is also dire. There is a disabled toilet in the small cafe but if it's closed yo,ur only option is a portaloo which wouldn't accommodate a wheelchair. We also noticed dogs were not allowed onto the beach summer season , but this seemed to be ignored. Yeah, so while I love Bundoran I just wish the powers that be would look at other beaches...
Read moreBundoran has everything you could possibly need at a beach. There's plenty of places to eat some amazing food within a short walk... playgrounds... amusement park... coffee shops etc. The beach is beautiful and the kids loved it. If you want to book a hotel or B&B you'd better do it way in advance. Tried booking for mid July today but all booked up in the hotel we tried. If you're going to the amusement park order a wrist band online...lasts for two hours....all rides free except some of the bigger ones. You could spend 6hrs in bundoran and it'll feel like 1. Try to park close to the beach as €3 ticket will last all day even if you decide to move your car later to another part of the town. Get there early as it's very...
Read moreVery nice sandy beach located in a small bay with a stone part on the south and north side. On the northern rocky part there is a section for jumping into the water into the neighboring long and narrow bay. The parking lot is very spacious, and all you need from the shops is a few minutes walk to Bundoran. Almost on the beach is the Adventure Park and Waterworld Bundoran, so games and entertainment will not be missed. All in all a very cleverly designed and implemented, very pleasant...
