Fairy Bridges is a beautiful natural rock formation located in Donegal, Ireland. The name "Fairy Bridges" comes from the local folklore that the rocks were once used by fairies to cross the nearby river. The formation consists of two large rocks that appear to be suspended in mid-air over the water, with a smaller rock acting as a bridge connecting them.

Visitors to Fairy Bridges can take a short walk from the nearby car park to reach the rocks, and can even walk across the smaller rock bridge for a unique perspective of the surrounding scenery. The area surrounding the rocks is also home to a variety of wildlife, including seals and seabirds.

The natural beauty of Fairy Bridges and the surrounding area is truly breathtaking. The rugged coastline and crashing waves create a dramatic backdrop for the rocks, and the clear blue water of the river provides a stunning contrast against the green hills in the distance.

Overall, Fairy Bridges is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Donegal. Its unique rock formation and stunning natural surroundings make it a truly unforgettable experience. Visitors can also explore the nearby beaches and hiking trails, making it a perfect day trip for nature lovers. Whether you believe in fairies or not, the beauty of Fairy Bridges is sure to leave...

Visiting the Fairy Bridges was an unforgettable experience—absolutely magical from start to finish. Nestled along the dramatic coastline of Bundoran, this natural rock formation offers stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, with waves crashing beneath the ancient sea arches and blowholes. You can really feel the raw power and beauty of nature here.

There’s a well-maintained coastal path leading up to the site, complete with informative signage about the folklore and geology of the area. The local legend says these bridges were a place where fairies crossed into our world—standing there, you can see why. There’s a mystical atmosphere, especially at sunrise or sunset, when the golden light dances on the waves and cliffs.

Adjacent to the Fairy Bridges is the Wishing Chair, another must-see. You sit, make a wish, and soak in the peaceful, otherworldly vibe. It’s free to visit, easy to access with parking nearby, and suitable for families, photographers, and nature lovers alike.

We spent over an hour here just taking in the views, snapping photos, and enjoying the serenity. It’s not overly crowded, which adds to its charm. This hidden gem truly captures the wild spirit of Ireland’s northwest coast. Highly recommended if you’re anywhere near Bundoran—you won’t...

The Fairy Bridges is a natural arch in the cliffs, with blow holes that date as far back as the 1700s. The Wishing Chair is also very popular with visitors, who take advantage of the magical powers of the natural stone chair. More than the bridge I loved the beautiful beach and sea around this area. Good place for a long walk and to be close to the nature. Please be careful about the weather before coming on this place because the real majestic view you could see only in a good sunny day. On this site you can learn all about the Fairy Bridges & Wishing Chair, their notoriety as Bundoran’s first tourist attraction back in the 1800s, how to make your wish so you know it will come true and also about the general history and geology of the area! Good place to visit with children and make them learn about the fairies. :) Beautiful beach for a long stroll with pristine, white sand. Along the seashore is a paved walkway where you can enjoy a relaxing walk with stunning views. The fairy bridges are something unique to see. An outing that will leave you feeling relaxed and...

With scenic views for 360 degrees you can see back into Mullaghmore, County Sligo and across Donegal Bay to the magical Slieve League Cliffs. As you begin the Roguey Walk Experience, you will arrive at the stunning Fairy Bridges – sea stacks hundreds of years old and Bundoran’s original tourist attraction back in the 1800s. However, it is believed that as far back as the 1700s locals thought these to be haunted by the fairies with the result of the name “The Fairy Bridges”. While you’re there, take a seat on Bundoran’s own Wishing Chair. It is said that many of the town’s famous visitors over the years have sat here overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean – from poet William Allingham to golfer Christy O’Connor Jr to Viscount Enniskillen to 10 times world champion surfer Kelly Slater – they’re all believed to have sat in Bundoran’s famous Wishing Chair located at the Fairy Bridges at Tullan Strand.
