I visited St. Mel's Cathedral and it was an unforgettable experience to think of the miraculous Power of the LORD GOD. I spent some time in Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. I lit candles for families associated with us.

The history of the Cathedral is amazing.

The only stain glass which was not blasted during fire is very good.

I rejoiced when I heard them say: 'Let us go to God's house ' Ps. 21.

Visit this place where God lives. Whoever you are, He welcomes you. Respect it Be silent, believe and pray. Jesus loves You 😍

Welcome His Love.

Beautiful cathederal, go there for mass especially if you: Are a practicing Catholic, live in Longford, know the divil but reject him and all his works, need confession, are in Longford town on a Saturday evening /Sunday morning. There is a bit of history to that building, twas burned down to the ground at one stage.. Dunno exactly when but a holy picture remained completely undamaged and is in the (fairly) new rebuilt cathedral.. Now, there ya are... That shook ya. Tis beside the bus depot too if ya don't have time for mass and...

A beautiful church. Unfortunately a completely horrible mass. Priest wore flip-flops and held a political talk instead of a Catholic sermon or reflection on the Gospel. Two extraordinary Eucharistic ministers, which were completely unnecessary as the church was not even half full, just took the consecrated Eucharist out of the tabernacle as if it was old toast bread from Friday morning. I was shocked. What a sad testimony of the rich Catholic faith. I recommend the church as a beautiful place of architecture but not as a...

Wow. First time here for me - not very religious. The cathedral is beautiful. It is an astounding restoration after being burnt down some years ago. Fair play to the people who had the vision to rebuild but not be bound to the past. Beautiful modern interpretation. Classic. Thanks, Peter R.
