Clew Bay Heritage Centre — Attraction in County Mayo

There is a lot of interesting items in the museum to look at, just be aware that these people running the museum are volunteers and in no way should be charging and doing grave or name searches if not trained or have the resources other than the internet for you as I found out. Do not waste your money on a heritage or grave search in the area with this center, because once you give them your information and money you will have to email them constantly and maybe they will respond. I found out for free in one day from my B&B host where to look and found 2 graves. Clew Bay spent 8 weeks and could not give me the same information and its not that they gave me nothing its the way they handled my request. They were supposed to let me know in a couple of days while I was there but I had to email them 3 times in 5 weeks and they finally replied they had not even looked at it and three weeks later gave me a short, no we have no...

Fascinating artifacts, lovely old letters different type of equipment used back in the day. Staff are great very helpful, this is really an easy one to add to your day you can spend an hour there or 20 mins it’s really up to you how long you want to stroll around. Just in the Quays area of Westport, towards the boats area. I absolutely adore this place! Very informational and has so many genuine artefacts, it's basically the whole town of Westport in a nutshell in a single room.
