A quaint little tower nestled in nature. Merlin Castle is a small historical structure you can admire only from the outside, as entry isn't allowed. While the surroundings are not well maintained - likely left untouched to preserve their natural charm - the area offers a peaceful vibe. Located near the woods, it's a lovely spot for a quiet walk, kid-friendly stroll, or dog-walking. It's best enjoyed on a calm day; avoid visiting during windy weather due to the risk of falling trees. Note: the castle is accessible only by foot or bicycle, adding to its serene, off-the-beaten-path appeal. A pleasant experience for nature lovers!

A great piece of history, surrounded by a modern way of life, built to last, and it's certainly stood the test of time, so we'll made it's still standing today, would make a great home today and was probably quite grand in it's day. Worth a look, alongside a nice walk through the woodland on a gravel path, if you like historic buildings you'll like this one , for me well worth a look, with other ruined out buildings in the woods, go have a look, and when your done have a KFC as it's only 2mins in the car.........

A hidden gem worth visiting! The castle ruins may be small, but they have a unique charm and atmosphere that makes you feel like stepping back in time. The surrounding countryside is peaceful and adds to the experience. It’s easy to reach, not crowded, and perfect for a short walk or quick stop if you’re exploring the area. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in Irish history and medieval architecture.

My mom and I went on a nice stroll here. I enjoyed the information about the castle and nature at the entrance of the trail, but I could've done with more information. Mostly I was sad that we couldn't go inside it and that the trash around the trail wasn't cleaned up better. If you're looking to explore a castle, this is not the place, but if you're looking to enjoy a simple nature walk with a little history,...
