We travelled from Belfast to visit this museum yesterday. On the ground floor are more recent artefacts and information, including a "bubble car" and information about the railway in Dundalk, which was of interest to me as family members had worked in the GNR works in Dundalk. There are three floors in the museum, the top floor is devoted to prehistoric times, so I would recommend starting there. The museum closes for lunch between 1pm and 2pm. We went for lunch in a nearby café and returned to the museum for approx an hour after lunch. Read moreGreat museum and good experience. The staff sounded really passionate about what they do. The entry is free. This is a 3floor museum. They have a lot of artefacts from the past that you can take, feel and touch(in the ground floor). They are not behind glass cabinets. On the first and the second floor, you can find a lot of information from the past that is relevant to Irish history, especially the history of county Louth. They also have restrooms available and have creative sections for kids to enjoy. This is such a well organised museum that is suitable for anyone visiting this place. Bear in mind one thing that they are closed for lunch between 1-2, when you...
