Ice House Hill is located towards the northwesterly end of Dundalk Town. It is easily accessible by car and foot from the town centre. Having grown up near Ice House Hill, I have watched it change over the years, from the boggy fields and trees we would have played around as children, to the superb family amenity that it is today. There is now a pond, seating areas. and a very enjoyable walkway around the park. A lot of effort has been put into making the area what it is today. There is also the old underground tunnel, which is closed off today, but can still be viewed. The area is not very large by many park standards, but that's what actually makes it different. Read moreJust around the corner, a great park for dog walking or family strolls. The Ice House and accompanying signs provide an insight to the history of the place. There's a well-designed pond at the centre of the park with resident ducks. Some benches around the park to relax if the weather allows. One side of the park runs parallel to the Dublin - Belfast railway line, which either interferes with the calm of the park or makes for a nice bit of train spotting, depending on your perspective.
