This boardwalk is a fantastic resource. Starting from the end of the Front Beach in Youghal with it's Victorian houses, it stretches 1.9km to Redbarn, Apart from a short section running by the Claycastle carpark, the boardwalk is formed of hardwood on steel supports sitting on timber piles. The first phase of the boardwalk only went as far as the Claycastle carpark, but the boardwalk was extended in 2021 all the way to Redbarn. The boardwalk is 2m wide. However, it is fairly busy...
