Great walk towards the namal. There is a kind of zoo with Ibex, antelope and deer, including a sad, single zebra. It was a bit sad to see especially as many parents and children easily were feeding the animals bread and things not suited to their diet, this was extremely harmful and concerning. There was at least adequate shade for the animals and food and water. Apart from that, lovely walk shaded parts to sit along the canal, there are toilets at the entry (not a lot of parking), and a food cart. Also exploitative people offering a pony or horse ride for children in this horrid summer heat. The pony appears to be blind in one eye. There is a small playground (up a little hill) away from the nasal between the zoo and Edgar (name?) Park. Nice for kids to take their bicycles...
Read morePlace is excellent .Preferably visit during the early morning hours during summer. Nice nature view of birds. Clean place. Washrooms were not clean . Good for one day picnic. Animals are well maintained. We were not able to see Peacock. Centrally located in the heart of Ashdod city. The place is nicely utilised connecting the backseide of Ashdod port then the lake and the beach. Carry your own food and water. There are two different parks for the kids too. Nice place for the adults for morning walks and exercises too. Also closely connected through walking distance to an authentic Indian restaurant Namaste. ...
