Great place and nice Beach. We have been coming for the last 4 years every year to baba beach. Our dog loves it. Unfortunately the service these year was awful. We were so disappointed, that we are no planing not to come back ever. We visit every year in the summer the Ligurian coast since many years. Actually this review is more a message for the management and owners of baba beach: you have to check your team regarding customer service and let them remember the client is always king. We did a reservation for 5 people via our hotel. As we arrive, things (Baldachin) were not prepared (which is ok, and this things happen when you work on service). But it was the way at the reception how the treated us, not friendly and always looking for excuses blaming the hotel. As they escort us to our Baldachin, this one was really dirty and the guy who escort us didn’t bother to clean it. After that he came with towels and told us we have to pay extra. We were quite shock, as the last years we have always booked a baldachin and towels were included in the high price. We actually took 1 towel, to clean the mess and dirt left behind to the baldachin we have reserved. Later on, they ask us if we are planning to have lunch at the restaurant. We said yes of course, as we really loved the food in baba beach the last years. Unfortunately round about 4 pm we decided to go to the restaurant, and for our surprise the kitchen was closed. I’m ok with that, but why didn’t you informed us from the beginning the working hours of the restaurant, and we could have planned differently? At least we got some pizzas. At the end we paid over 400€ (parking cost extra, a beer for 8€ etc.), which is ok when you get an excellent service, but when there is lack of service and customer care, you will definitely say - it’s too pricy and quality doesn’t match the price. I say this from experience to the owners as me and my wife owned a luxury hotel, and service and customer care is number 1 - always. For a customer, when things don’t match, you just easily look somewhere else to find what makes you happy. Definitely, next year we will not come back to baba beach and we will search some where else. Best...
Read moreWe spent a day here and booked a lovely sunbed right by the water for €90. The setting is stunning, no doubt about it. But unfortunately, there were a few things that really took away from the experience.
There was a QR code at the sunbed so you could order food and drinks directly – just like it should be. However, the menu was very limited compared to what’s actually available, and the pricing felt deliberately structured. The cheapest bottle of wine was €59, and although orders over €25 came with no service fee, it was clearly set up to just miss that threshold. For example: 2 beers at €12 each = €24. So effectively, we paid €29 for two beers.
To be clear – I have no problem spending money when things are worth it. I’ve been to countless beach clubs around the world, and when there’s a full menu, reasonable prices and attentive staff eager to serve, I’m more than happy to indulge.
But here, I just felt irritated. Even small things, like staff walking around offering a single grape skewer for €10, made the whole experience feel overly commercial in a bad way.
It’s a beautiful place, and you can still enjoy it – but be aware that everything costs extra, and not always in a way that feels fair...
Read moreBig disappointment. We paid 90-95€ for our sunbed. It was a very nice sandy beach with shallow water and we got plenty of space and even a sunbed for the dogs. However, when we got there we realized that the parking was not included but cost another 20€ and there were no free spaces. It is desolate and all food and drinks are much more expensive than normal. We managed to find a side street with free parking but don't expect to find it, we were lucky. The free beach is two meters away so take it instead and bring a chair and umbrella, it is more worthwhile. Also, there were at least 8-15 people working there, they forgot every time we went out to walk the dogs and when we came back to go to our chairs they acted like we were burglars. It was us and 4-5 other dog owners, not much to ask to be remembered, or at least not treated as burglars. They kind of came running after us even though we had already told two people that we had booked and already had our stuff at a chair on the beach. Snotty, expensive and unpleasant, do...
